Re: That Exy With The 20s!

Very nice - those 20s really make a big difference to the overall appearance and stance of the vehicle.

Kudos on a great job.

Matt,
Just LOVE the look of the exy sitting on 20's. If I wasn't keen on the trails and all things uneven, I would be looking at these also. Nice ride.

Re: That Exy With The 20s!

Hi Matt,

The exy looks awesome, I was just wondering the width of your rims? Are they 7.5, 8 or 8.5 inches?and have you had any problems after you lowered it? I just signed the purchase order for my exy today and I'm in the process of hunting down some rims. A few places I spoke to seem to think that I cant fit the wheels I want under the gaurds (I wanted 22's but I'm going to have to settle for 20's)
I figure you would be the best person to ask as you have already done this mod.

Cheers

Dan

Re: That Exy With The 20s!

i know its prob a bit late now, but ill answer dans questions incase anyone else is wondering...........

as jalal mentioned, they are 8inchs wide

even afrter lowering it there is no problems with anything hitting or scrubbing. I personally think 22s would fit, but any rim wider than 8.5 inch is going to give you problems

Re: That Exy With The 20s!

Thanks Matt. I think the 22's will fit aswell, however the fiancee is worried about being legal (I haven't told her that the 20's will probably be pushing it) I could always get an engineers approval emoticon

I have been shopping around for some wheels and I keep getting different versions of what will fit. Some places say no more than 8 inches wide and others say 8.5 will fit fine.

Its pretty difficult trying to find 20 inch wheels that are less than 8.5 wide emoticon I have only found 2 different types and one of those is the same as yours and I vowed never to buy bsa rims after my last wheels

Re: That Exy With The 20s!

Dan,

Just be a little bit careful with going to big as what extra benefit you will get in handling you will sacrifice with ride comfort.

Matt has indicated that his 20” are still not bad, but I would expect 22” to make for a fairly rough ride.
