posticon Show us your modifications

Hi Guys,

As the subject of this thread suggests, I thought it'll be good and interesting to see what each one of you has done to his/her exy since you bought it.

You're free to list all of the mods you have done, no matter how small they may look or sound (performance, cosmetic, mechanical, chrome stuff emoticon audio-visual and anything else)

Please restrict yourself to one post detailing all of the mods in one list (with photos if available) and you can always go back and add (edit) your post later on as you add more mods to the exy.

All questions about the mods and/or their source/s to be asked in the corresponding and existing threads. If we see something that has not been covered off in our forum before, we can open a new thread for it.

This thread will be treated as a display of all members’ modifications.

Let the mods begin! emoticon

Re: Show us your modifications

Jalal, you really just started this thread because you couldn't fit all your mod's into your signature!

As an alternative to replying to existing threads regarding a modification, feel free to PM the owner of the modification...

Apart from the dealer-fitted nudge bar, tow bar, cargo blind, and roof racks and window tinting...

GME TX3200 UHF radio mounted in the slot reserved for the DVD player in the Ti model, with custom-made bracket for the antenna (using one of the driving light mounting holes in the nudge bar).

Pioneer TS-22 tweeters in the same position standard tweeters are installed in the Ti model.

Lightforce Blitz 240 driving lights with an assortment of coloured lens covers, wired up with two switches - one so they come on with high-beam, and another so they come on with the parking lights.

Schneider (chrome, for Jalal!) amplifier running a single Clarion long-excursion 12 inch subwoofer in a ported enclosure, with all associated cabling (signal comes from standard head unit through a "speaker-level to line-level" converter) with power for the box easily disconnected by using "Anderson" forklift-charger style plugs. The sub box spends most of it's time out of the car due to moving house (which we've now finally finished!)

Rubber floor mats from my old Pulsar SSS emoticon

If you want any further details of any of my modifications, feel free to click the self-explanatory link in my signature emoticon

Hopeful future mod's:

A/T tyres (it's been on the cards even before I bought the X-Trail!)

edit1: Got them today!
I just got some new tyres today...

Lifted ride height (50mm spacers preferred choice of lifting)

Bash plate (this one will cost me nothing as I already have the parts required in the garage - a large piece of scrap aluminium I picked up from work - last year!)

edit1: Installed it today!

I'll add photos later (tomorrow I hope) of the bash-plate which I finished installing tonight (you can see from the last photo above that all the plastic splash-guards have been removed)...

More Lightforce lights to mount on the roofracks, but I don't think I have a Christmas stocking big enough to fit four 170's!

Re: Show us your modifications

Re 2002 Ti Auto

My original extras from time of purchase are:
Dealer fitted window tinting (darkest)
Bonnet & light protectors,
Nissan Nudge Bar & 2 Nissan driving lights,
Luggage blind,
Nissan chrome exhaust 'end',
Genuine floor & cargo carpet mats.
Since then I have also fitted:
Larger (Repco) front-mud flaps in front of the existing ones to try to further protect the car from stone damage,
Rear parking sensors (Ebay),
K & N air filter,
Better headlight bulbs from Repco,
Strut bar,
Seat covers from the Bexley place,
Replaced the radio antenna with a chrome one,
Fitted a Milford safety net barrier.

All the extras have been fitted by myself (except tinting & seat covers) and I even made brackets that lifted the luggage blind about 70mm higher to clear our car frige. I also intend 'improving' the fabric seat covers to restore access to the passenger- seat map-pocket.

John (Dunoon)
