Re: Windscreen Replacement
Scot,
Did you give behind the dash a good clean while the glass was out or was it pretty clean?

Re: Windscreen Replacement
It does seem that this topic may have been done to death already, but as I am about to have the windscreen replaced, I dont think fresh experiences are wasted ones.
When I bought the exy last week, it had a chip, and a crack, and it was agreed upon for Nissan to replace it. The dealer ( Grand Nissan Morphett Vale, South Australia) told the sales dept it would be about $900. The sales manager made some calls to get it done elsewhere before agreeing vehicle price. ( I had the thumb screws on him pretty damn tight). He was quoted $280, not sure where.
After reading through this fabulous and informative ( quite possibly the BEST available) website, I made some calls of my own, and found Protector have a branch in Lonsdale. ( thats the PGI Australian one mentioned in this thread) They quoted only $255. This is who will do the work, paid for by Grand Nissan. Couldnt get the genuine Nissan seals thrown in though, apparently that would lift the price considerably, and the salesman is still eating beans on toast because of me. Installer reckons the replica is excellent, but real rubber, more flexible. Not sure if thats a benefit or not. If the screen pops out, we can all agree its not.
Anyway, will return with an update, as to clarity of the glass and the quality of the seals.
Thanks for the informative topic, without it I would simply have let a windscreen be fitted, none the wiser .
