Re: Windscreen Replacement

Well just completed 2 weeks in the outback, Broken Hill, Tibooburra & Cameron Corner in the exxy and she performed very well with Cooper CS4s.

It did cost us a windscreen tho. I am covered with NRMA for w/s replacement and so we utilised that option. Not all that sure the guy has refitted the top cowl properly (underneath the wipers). Would someone have a pic of theirs please as the middle join doesnt look right. Any pix would help as the join doesnt look right but I cant remember what it looks like..*L*

New W/screen has blue tinting at the top. Quite nice really..*L*

Regards
Bluey.

Re: Windscreen Replacement

Jalal,

I've enlarged and enhanced Bluey's pic.

Looks to me like the gap is a bit big as I don't have the hole between the two sections in mine.

Re: Windscreen Replacement

Just checked also after reading your reply.
Yep, it is a small round drain hole, not a gap.
All normal Bluey.

Re: Windscreen Replacement

Got a quote for a replacement windscreen from O'Briens $390 with genuine seals as they have excess stock of the glass. BUT, the glass they use is XTG !

They remind me of their 12mth replacement guarantee but how certain is it that they will see the same amount of distortion as I might ?

I'll be looking around a bit more and contacting the insurance company (AAMI) before comitting to O'Briens.

Re: Windscreen Replacement

I have had the replacement windscreen in for a few weeks now and all is good.
I went with O'Briens even though they used the XTG manufacture of windscreen but I did insist on genuine Nissan seals.
Their 12mth replacement warranty should cover any problems with distortion, but I cannot detect any yet. At only $390 it was cheaper than doing the replacement through the insurance company and paying the excess emoticon

Here is a pic of the old screen with the crack in it.
