Re: Hi-Tech X-Trail Extractors/Headers & Full Exhaust System (T30 X-TRAIL)

I had my full system installed by Hitech in May 2018 prior to a 4500+km outback trip.
Fitment by Hitech was fine and the exhaust and car have performed very well - so much extra go on the highway.
They had to bend a tail pipe because I had a non-Nissan towbar fitted.
See my July 2018 post above in this stream.
Cheers,
Greg

Re: Hi-Tech X-Trail Extractors/Headers & Full Exhaust System (T30 X-TRAIL)

Thanks for the quick replies. There is very little aftermarket support for the T30 in Canada, so I’ll keep my fingers crossed that Hi Tech gets back to me. This exhaust looks great.

Re: Rear muffler in the HT kit when you need the space for a water/fuel tank?

Hi all,

I'll be looking for a solution to Nissan's best effort factory exhaust on the T30II. Instead of just working, the 2nd cat had problems and had to be replaced, not to mention hanging down so far the ground clearance in the middle meant going off the tarmac always carried a decent risk! We're on the 2nd rear muffler now and its as rusty as a North Korean fishing boat.

Anyhow, just wanted to ask- Is there any option in the HighTech solution to use a side muffler (instead of the big central one with all its bendy pipes), as per the positioning of the muffler on the later T31 diesel?

Sorry if this has been discussed before, I remember it being mentioned before, but without a fix, IIRC.

I know it will need to be smaller and louder, but there are 2" chambered mufflers are available down to 4"x9"- which might just be small enough rear muffler

Re: Hi-Tech X-Trail Extractors/Headers & Full Exhaust System (T30 X-TRAIL)

The Hi-Tech system for the petrol Xtrails has been tuned specifically for our QR25DE engines to get the best torque and power out of them while still maintaining a sound volume and emissions below regulations.

You might contact them direct to see if they have another option available for the muffler.

The standard muffler they offer ed on my Series 1 is much smaller then the stock T30 garbage-can muffler and sits up nice and high. The twin outlets balance the look of the rear too emoticon

Re: Hi-Tech X-Trail Extractors/Headers & Full Exhaust System (T30 X-TRAIL)

Thanks @RevHead Kev, I'll go see Lambros next time I go down to the city. Good to know their rear muffler is more compact. They did some work for me before once, and given the dogs breakfast Nissan made of the T30II system, it'll be great to replace the whole thing with something more fit for purpose. Not often you can say this for modern cars, but Nissan clearly had someone doing their exhausts on a shoestring, and as a result, they are very poor.

Certainly seem to fall off many a T30, pretty fast.
