Re:

Hi Barry,

This thread is about Nissan dealers, not car brokers.

Can I please ask you to copy your question into an existing thread which talks about buying through brokers HERE.

Re: Dealer Experience (The Good & Bad)

Jalal,

Thanks for keeping the forums tidy and organised.

My question was about the company called Brisbane Car Brokers, who are a licensed dealer. The other thread seems to be about Novated Leases.

Barry.

Re:

Barry,

Brisbane Car Brokers are not a Nissan dealer which is what this thread is targeting. The other thread is talking about novated lease and car brokers as well, so please use the other thread and I will modify its title to reflect brokers as well.

Re: Nissan Dealer Experience (The Good & Bad)

Over the last few months I had had a quite a few issues with my local Nissan dealer. Ive had the car in for a few things over my ownership of my T30 and always walk away dissapointed.
Ive just lost my confidence with them as it seems their knowledge of the vehicles and the staff are simply undertrained or just dont care.

I was in my local dealership for 45minutes while three staff members tried to locate a simply gearbox plug for me. I walked out of there slightly annoyed and without a plug.(I was told again that they have never had to replace that part and never had a gearbox apart. (thats crap, surely the techs do this in their training). Another simple problem I had was that I needed a tamperproof socket piece for my balancer unit. I was told that Nissan dont have that tool(crap again,as its in the standard nissan apprentice took kit.) Again i was told to try local parts store cause they have never seen one before.) Um.... Magic Nissan had one. (btw its a three half moon type bolt head, fort knox style)

I was told to go to a local parts shop or try another dealer.WTF.....
Anyways..

I called Magic Nissan in canning Vale WA and spoke to a guy there that knew exactly what i was talking about and ordered it straight away. I spoke to him for ages and he enlightened me on my local dealership and how many complaints they hear about.. He actually worked there years ago and got fed up. Anyway he ordered me a few more parts that I needed, parts were in Melb but he got em to me the next day and did trade rates on the parts.. emoticon

I can highly recommend Magic Nissan in Perth,WA and if their mechanics are as every bit as helpful and knowledgeable as the guy I spoke to on the phone, that itll be a pleasant experience.

So I guess ill take back what ive said about nissan dealers in general and It might be only my local one that is letting people down and giving potentially damaging engine advice.

It must be said tho, that a young mechanic came out to help me with the plug,he actually has a mint T30 and he put in on the hoist for me to chat about the questions I had.

As described here: http://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/t127747,offset=20#post2056959

Lakeside Nissan have been wonderful to deal with and have a serious and helpful attitude.

Big thank-you to Lakeside Nissan for their excellent customer focus and genuine interest in solving this problem - awesome dealer and why I drive past three others and some 40kms to have them work on my car.

Re: Nissan Dealer Experience (The Good & Bad)

Had my exy for 50k service today at Northside Nissan, $217 for the service, and $29 to replace one of the interior light emoticon Does it usually cost this much to have one of these interior light replaced? The bulb cost only $2.91 so the labor cost around $26.

When I brought my car in I mentioned to the service advisor that my rear right light was out and he noted it down in the service worksheet and said they will replace it. And this is what exactly written in the service worksheet with my invoice when I picked up my car.

-Vehicle RH interiour light inoperative
-Trace and find cause of inoperative globe on vehicle
-Remove the faulty globe and replace with new unit
-Test and check electrical circuit to confirm operation.

They also susggest me to have oil flush $69, Air con AIR-TEK service &119 brake safety performance check ( I don't know wat the heck this meant) for $59. I didn't buy any of these.

Wouldn't go back to Northside Nissan again, so much for the so called Platinum Dealer.

Re:

I would go back and argue the case that it doesn't cost $29 to chang a bulb.
They should have started with the globe first anyway.

Looks like they burned up a fair bit of that $29 in the administrative time typing up the service worksheet!

Re: Nissan Dealer Experience (The Good & Bad)

emoticon Big thumbs up for Garry Crick Auto at Nambour. On Friday I had trouble starting several times and dropped in there around midday. The girl at the service desk took pity on me when I said I was travelling, and arranged for a diagnosis. The problem proved to be the crank and cam sensors. They said it wasn't a big job, and that they would fit me in with the workshop manager doing the job himself. Much appreciated since they said they were booked out til next Thursday and I would have been delayed for another week.
