Re: X-Trail OBDII Readers

Hi, thank god I am not the only one to be having troubles getting an OBDII reader to connect to my X-Trail. I have a 2004 model ST Petrol, which according to some sites is OBDII compatible. Yet, the reader wont work on the vehicle.
I had a similar problem with a VY commodore a few years back but I did find out that only the [sign in to see URL] V8 was compatible.
I am open to a "definitive" solution to the problem

Re:

I recently purchased a WiFi OBDII reader for my motorbike and this thing seems to be compatible with all OBDII ECUs, as I plugged in 3 different cars so far and it read the fault codes without any problems. I just had to install an App on my iPhone to read and re-set the codes. It's very handy to have and doesn't require any PC connections.

Re: Nissan Consult & ECU Readers

Is it an ELM327 type of OBDII scanner ?
Some sites say the ELM327 is only good for 2005 and up Xtrails.

My ELMscan5-USB is a Hardware Revision 1.2 and Firmware Revision 1.1 and reads codes perfectly on my 2003 Series1 T30.

Re: Nissan Consult & ECU Readers

I've got a 2002 series 1 t30, and it's been working perfectly for the last 6 months+..

I'm using an Android head unit - so it's always connected.

i can't find the exact item in my purchase history on ebay anymore, but had a look through my email and the receipt had it listed as: "Mini ELM327 V1.5 Bluetooth OBD-II OBD2 Car Diagnostic Scanner Tool Adapter OK!"

(and it cost no more than $10 delivered!)

Yes Kev, it's an ELM327 OBD2 scanner. Check eBay item number: 162036955044

I know the older OBDII scanners didn't work with the Series 1 T30 xtrails, but I think the new ones are all compatible now.

Software/apps

Hi everyone,

Can you specify what kind of app are you using, and if your protocol is OBDII or just ELM327?

Re:

Bought a $10 ELM327 OBDII dongle off ebay... paid 7 bux for the Torque Pro app and bada bing, we have comms!
I have used it on hyundai, euro holdens (barina etc) and the exxy!
Haven't dug too deep with the Exxy yet.. more just scanning for codes, can't say that it is 100% accurate though, had it down at nissan with a MIL for an EGR issue, 1 code showed up on my reader, nissan said there were a few codes they found, nevertheless, it's an awesome start for next to no money! emoticon

Re: Best diagnostic software, free or not.

Hi everyone. This seemed the best thread to post my enquiry. I'm looking for the best Windows or Android software, free or not, to use with a 2004 T30 petrol. Not just for reading/displaying parameters, but for DOING stuff, like Idle resets, Immobiliser key programming, operating components for testing, etc.

Nissan DataScan II in unregistered mode appears to connect with my VAG COM 409.1 cable (gets ECU ID), but because it doesn't support DDL1(?) it only talks to the engine ECU (K Line), not the TCU, ABS, etc.
I feel like I'm paying 'Full Price' for something that only 1/8th works!

I also have a Panlong ELM327 Bluetooth adapter as well as the VAG COM 409.1 cable.

Specifically at the moment I'm looking to program some more transponder keys to the immobiliser. (I have my decrypted PIN code for the Immobiliser.)

2004 T30 series II, Ti for now.
JRR50 Pathfinder, QD32ETi Turbo Diesel, with 'lots o fruit'.
Eventually looking for a white or silver 2011-2013 T31 TL (Diesel) to "pimp out".

Re:

No can do mate, there is nothing out there that can allow you to "DO STUFF" on our ECU apart from reading it.
