Re: "Piggy Back" ECU
And why would I do that Rich?
It's too much fun to pass on, even though it is now considered an "expensive" way of finding pleasure in driving a high powered car. I don't think I can drive my exy de-tuned (or stock) anymore and am sure you would have done the same with your Pulsar had you still had it

Re: "Piggy Back" ECU
Thanks Jalal, Just what i wanted to hear. Very interested in this performance upgrade for the future. when i do get around to getting this Haltech computer in the future id have to drive to sydney to get it installed because canberra isnt big on the tuning and dyno scene and the fellas that carried your work seem like the must know their stuff.

Re: "Piggy Back" ECU
Yes Taylor, they know their stuff for sure and they're very well known in the "performance tuning" business in Sydney. You'll be better off doing it here of course, but be prepared to spend the entire day in Sydney.

Re: "Piggy Back" ECU
Nope I didn't, Spiro assured me he was running it in 2WD mode only, but obviously it was not the case and the rear diff got completely cooked after 30 runs on the dyno. Only failed after a while though (after 4 runs at the Eastern Creek raceway as well. hehehe), so lucky I found one at the wreckers which was practically brand new.

Re: "Piggy Back" ECU
sorry i know its getting alittle off topic but do you think the diff got cooked from over heating or dealing with all the power mods including "the final nail in the coffin" piggy back ecu?

Re: "Piggy Back" ECU
Nothing to do with the piggy back ECU or the extra power at all. The oil in the diff was burnt and the gears got broken, which can only be caused by a degree of stress on the diff which can either happen in off-roadings (HEAVY off-roading) or prolonged time on the dyno and my exy spent the entire day on the dyno that day and then followed by another day at the race track. All of these sudden accelerations had an impact on the rear diff and the guys at Nissan confirmed it too. It was the first case they have ever came across with a cooked rear diff on an exy
I have discussed this problem I had in another thread.
