Re: Spotto's

micmac, I can tell you with 100% certainty that the exy you saw was that of Rybky (Adam) and that fitting in the middle of the bumper is the reverse camera emoticon

This is Micmac from Berowra- While this is not an entry about the Car Show - it is a compliment for an Exy that i saw today,Fri 27th (Jalal this one should have also been on the stand)on the freeway going noth of Sydney a titanium TI with twin exhaust, decal over the 3rd stop lamp, and the X trail Sticker on the back gate,I think the wind deflector for the sun roof, look like lots of mods here, what a beauty you drive, I followed you from Wahroonga and left at Berowra, you continued north, Congrats on the good looking X Trail.

- What is that fitting in the middle of the plate that covers the space where you can add another brake light - a parking sensor or camera -

Hey! I only just noticed this post from back in October!! That certainly sounds like me, we were on our way up to the Hunter Valley for the weekend to go to the Jazz in the Vines festival. Thanks for the compliment!!

Yes, the thing in the fog light blanking plate is a rear view camera which I am so glad I have, I can squeeze into the smallest of parking spots now with ease!! emoticon

Re: Spotto's

Spotted last night on the harbour bridge heading into the city at around 6:30pm ... a black X-Trail with the same Hi-Tech exhaust setup as me!! I nearly crashed, I thought mine was the only one they made with the tips so close together??!

You drove right past me in the left lane but I only noticed after you passed and then I got stuck in heavier traffic.

I notice you have not refitted the under bumper black plastic molding. I cut the ends off mine so that it fitted within the tips and refitted it, IMO it looks much better as it hides the muffler completely and gives the exhaust a factory fit look.

Re: Spotto's

Adam,

Nope, you're not the only xtrail with this set-up. If you can remember Kenzotrail (Paul) chose to have it done the same way (see it HERE) and I am 100% sure that it was him you saw, as he was on his way back from my place.

I actually asked him last night if he was happy with the pipes being so close to each other in terms of sound and he said that he loved it and everyone else that got into his exy said the same thing, so this proves that the "sound" effect associated with exhaust system upgrades is a matter of personal taste.

Ahh! OK, you have a much better memory than I do. I remember now that they initially did a template for non-towbar cars, so that was the one! emoticon

Re: Spotto's

Saw another raised white X-trail in Dubbo today, fitted with a custom dual exhaust system. Didn't get a chance to stop as I was working, but the dual tips were similar to the SS oval type and looked VERY beefy. The rego was personalised similar to DAVIEZ.

Saw a fellow forum member last week in Melbourne.

It was ZORROSTS and we were travelling along bourke rd in Ivanhoe and getting onto the Eastern freeway.

It had the xtrail sticker over the rear brake light and a forum sticker on the back window.

Very nice looking autombile.

I saw yet another forum member on the road yesterday, near Ivanhoe.

This time it was LOWTRL.

I could see it coming a mile away with those huge rims!!! Definately the hottest xtrail in Melbourne!

Re: Spotto's

Spotted a red X-Trail last night on my way home from work, was definitely a forum member - eyelids & twins! Could have been trailx?

It was on Reserve Road in Artarmon (Sp?), I was waiting at the lights to turn on to Reserve Road from Epping Rd and you drove along Reserve Rd in front of me. This was about 6pm last night.

Don't think you saw me ... you were going too fast!! emoticon
