Re: my stereo stage 2!
I decided to post this question here rather than Brett's new thread as it's probably more relevant to this thread seeing as you already have photos of the replacement speakers above...
Brett mentioned in his thread the depth of the speaker only being 2 inches. I wondered how much space there was between the speaker surround (or mid-mounted tweeter; whatever is the furthest-protruding part of the speaker), and the inside of the door trim panel. The reason I ask is because I made use of that space in my Pulsar to fit 8inch (diameter!) speakers in the door by making up a couple of spacer rings (made of MDF, then painted to help reject moisture), to allow a deeper speaker to be installed in the door, while not having to damage/modify the door trim (well at least not visibly, when the panel is back in it's normal position).
EDIT: On second thoughts, it's probably better I copy this to Brett's thread as it does appear to be more relevant there

Re: my stereo stage 2!
Hi Brett,
What sound-proofing did you get ?
Thinking of some myself and wondered if the (heavy) mat or (lighter) paint-on stuff was best.
