Re: Do my spark plugs need changing

Phil,

I'm pretty happy with mine and I had them for quite a while. I can't say that you will get major HP out of it, but my exy never missed a beat and it feels quite lively (touch wood) LOL emoticon

The advertised price in their latest catalogue is $14.95/per plug (Total of $59.80 for 4)

I'll be ordering 8 of them at that price emoticon

Hey Jalal is that price Australia wide or just for NSW. (Can't find a repco catalogue anywhere)

Dan,

Not sure mate, but in case, the sale advert is deceiving as I went there on Thursday to buy the plugs and was advised that this sale price is for whatever stock is available in the shops and surprise, surprise when I gave them our part number, they said they need to be ordered and I will get charged shipping and the rest of that stuff.

Hi Guys,

I know I have previously said that it is best to buy the NGK Iridium plugs locally, but I just couldn't pass on such a good offer emoticon

8 x NGK Iridium plugs for a grand total of $83.00AUD (shipped from the US)

That works-out to be around $10 bucks per plug. Certainly beats all the local prices.

Still waiting to receive them.

If interested, the ebay auction is still active HERE

The NGK Iridium plugs arrived from the U.S. in 5 days. Very impressive service indeed and I can recommend this seller to anyone.

Re: Do my spark plugs need changing

I have just read this thread and am a bit confused. The service manual on this forum says replace at 40,000km for normal plugs. The service data on the Nissan Australia site says 40,000km for normal plugs or 100,000km for the platinum. The NGK web site says 150,000km for the Iridium plugs but duxbac (on page 3 of this thread) said he noticed his iridium plugs go off after 50,000 and replaced them. Is this sort of mileage similar to what other people have achieved? If so, I am thinking that the extra money is not really worth it (especially as Blackburn4X4 sells the standard plugs for under $6).

I notice it is a year and a half since the last posting. What is the latest experience people have had?

Re: Do my spark plugs need changing

Alex,

The NGK Iridium IX plugs last 60,000kms as per the information on the NGK website HERE.

I found them to be excellent and am still using them. They last longer than the standard NGK plugs that came with the car, but less than the Platinum ones which are only available on the xtrail in Japan. Australia didn't get them and they're expensive indeed.

Duxbac's 50,000kms on the Iridium IX plugs is only 10K shorter than their life-span, but that could be attributed to many other factors, not necessarily a reflection on the spark plugs used.

Re: Do my spark plugs need changing

Thanks Jalal

I was sure I read 150K on the NGK web site, but I cannot find it again. It must have been wishful thinking.

I am currently getting over 12l/100km now so I figure there must be a few things need replacing. Have done 35K since the standard plugs were replaced so I figure plugs must be one of them emoticon

Re: Do my spark plugs need changing

Thought I'd ressurect a thread here. emoticon

Is everyone still happy with the Iridium plugs? Or has something better come along? I'm pondering getting a set off eBay since I'm coming up to 50,000km, should only be around $60.

Also, is the Aussie model engine the same as the canada/us one? Would the LFR5AIX-11 plugs fit my 06 exie LE?
