Re: Exhaust Tailpipe Mod (Cosmetic Only)

Hi Dave4x4
My rear muffler has been changed due to the addition of a second fuel tank.
At this tread
The car sounds a bit like a rice burner, when you give it a gut full.
I'm looking at replacing the unit.
Will be watching in interest.

Re: Exhaust Tailpipe Mod (Cosmetic Only)

yeah i have only had my exy a month and already my mates are giving it to me about my lame exhaust tip.

I am extremely impressed with the polish up and chrome tip idea, however that rear muffler hangs very very low.... Surely there is an aftermarket muffler that is smaller, yet does not create "rice burner" noise.

Maybe an aftermarket one that can provide the chrome twin tip setup, but no extra noice....ahhh one can only dream.

This dream will become a reality this weekend emoticon

Have a look HERE

The rear muffler is the lowest point on the exy and it MUST go!

Hi Ryan,

Did you say you already have the twin tailpipe mod done?

Well if you have can you please post some pics as I'm (and am sure most others) very curious at how it looks.

Did you end up tapping the second tailpipe into the muffler?

Thanks

What do you think? I have spent a little time polishing the muffler up too, looks better now. And no, i did not tap into the muffler, didnt want to void warranty etc.

Re: Exhaust Tailpipe Mod (Cosmetic Only)

Hi Ryan,

Mate I am very impressed with that exhaust setup which looks very similar to what I have now. This is what I wanted to do in the first place but was quoted around $250.

Am still glad to have changed that bulky genuine muffler to a slimline muffler none the less.

Well done. So I guess your setup is still an option for those people not wanting a performance exhaust system and just a cosmetic one.

Re: Exhaust Tailpipe Mod (Cosmetic Only)

Hi Guys,

Those of you looking for the twin set-up made by COBRA (Germany), here is your chance.

THIS eBay item has just been found and if it sells for that price it's a pretty good deal.

Good luck.
