Re:
Max, he means a K&N Cold Air Intake System. It hasn't been fitted on X-Trail before because it was too expensive and we didn't have confirmed results of it, so the general direction followed the Cosmo Rasing CAI which you can also fit with the bypass valve for off-roading.
Please show us your Typhoon system and reports the results. Always good to find something new to explore and talk about.

Re: Air intake design & modifications
That sounds about right Charles. It's been over 10 years since I have done this, so you're testing my memory a bit
Yes, the AEM bypass valve is a must and it's cheap insurance and added peace of mind.
I'm not upto date on what else has been made available for the T30 but I would be surprised if something new has been developed for it given that most performance parts for the T30 have been discontinued from production.
The installation guide for the Cosmo CAI is in the first post of this thread.
Good luck with it.

Re: Air intake design & modifications
Hi Charles,
The AEM bypass valve is not part of the Cosmo CAI and will have to be purchased separately.

Re:
Nope Charles, it's pretty specific and only AEM have the compatible one with Cosmo.
