Re: Air intake design & modifications

Well, I've already installed it, too. emoticon

It's so ridiculous to uninstall it by now, as it should work as promised by this forum head administrator. emoticon

Mate, let AEM think it doesn't fit, otherwise they'll jack up the price of it emoticon

Re: Air intake design & modifications

Noel, do you think the lower duct is needed?

Could you make widen or even do some type of side by side over the radiator to get enough air flow in that area? Do you have a step by step guide?

I may be completely off base anyways as I am looking into getting a T31. Do the engine bays have anything in common?

Thanks.

Re:

The T30 engine bay layout is completely different to that of the T31 and this includes the factory air intake box and pipe.

Re: Air intake design & modifications

hi there, id like to buy either a nismo cai or an aem one but the only places i can seem to find them are on ebay and both are around the 400 mark after shipping, i was wondering if this price was about right or am i getting ripped off ? here are the links from ebay

im leaning towards the nismo item because it comes with the bypass valve what do you all think ?

Admin Edit: eBay links removed as per forum rules. Please don't post links to eBay as they go dead and become useless.

Re:

Hi Jaye,

All of the available and compatible CAI systems with the T30 X--Trail have been discussed in this thread, so spend some time reading the information available before making a decision on what to buy, as the cost alone is not what you should be looking at and since you have decided to go with a CAI system, performance gains are your main traget I presume, so do a bit of research and see which system will give you the best result.

Re:

Other than being creative and making my own through painful/costly trial and error, has anyone actually installed an upgraded air intake of any kind on a T31, other than simply replacing the air filter on the stock setup? As usual I can't seem to find anything for a T31 using the search function (I think it hates me)

Hi Ian,

Since you are the first to ask, it is a good opportunity to start a brand new thread for the T31 Air Intake Design and Mods and let's leave this thread to the T30 guys emoticon
