Re: Got bass?
Yes i think that that's the name of the setup. I tried the other one where you could touch the cones, but with this setup I feel that the subwoofer push the air in a more efficient way.

Re: Got bass?
To be in the same line... I just got my new X Trail, and priority first, install my sound system in. Head Unit Alpine CDC-9835, the front and rear doors Alpine SPX-170R, the AMPLIFIER... hummm, Memphis Bell 1600, and the sub, a memphis MClass 12' dual voice coil. Sound is GREAT, the head Unit is one of the best I've seen, and the amplifier... just awesome... pictures to come later!

Re: Got bass?
Brett,
You can hook up an amp to the speaker wires of a head unit (with converter) but there is an underlying problem with this, the signal coming out the unit on the speaker wires has already been amplified by the amp in the head unit, putting this through another amp can end up with a quality loss.
Ideally you should hook up an amp to a head unit's pre-out's (output signal before the internal amp) so you get a pure signal that you can then put through the amp.
Needless to say the factory head unit does not have pre-out's.
