Re: Got bass?

I finally got around to buying the gas flame/torch attachments I needed to solder the Anderson Plugs, and did it the other night...

Initial test run sounds ok, but I haven't been for a drive to turn it up (to check for bad soldering/connection) yet, but will this afternoon.

I didn't take photos, but I will also this afternoon, of the Anderson Plug connection, and the rest of the wiring plugs and location I used for the negative connection. I also found my spare terminal blocks which I removed from my Pulsar (I needed extra connections for the dual battery setup and a permanent charging connection for the car's electrical system (using a spare Anderson Plug always connected to the car's wiring, then plugging in the other end to a 40A charger, which I still have).

Re: Got bass?

Guys,
Do Anderson plugs come in different sizes?
I saw some on ebay which were 50a with gold connectors, the ones i used i think, were bigger and used in forklift applications and i am thinking they were to big, which would explain why my amp was getting no power when i installed it.

Post away driftking emoticon

Re: Got bass?

driftking - Looking forward to the photos... You can post a link to them where they are hosted on the net (eg: your personal webspace) and they will come up in the message.

weigen - The Anderson plugs come in different sizes. There should've been a little leaflet in the packet they came in, which lists all the different size plugs available and what size cable they suit. I'll scan it and attach it to another email probably in a few days at most. The plugs I used could fit the 4AWG cable stripped back and doubled over! It's impossible to get a plug that is "too big" - the bigger the plug, theoretically the less resistance there is to current flow. I think there may be something wrong with your plug (soldering/crimping, or maybe how it was manufactured or assembled)...

Re: Got bass?

thanks for the advice basshead, I know how to do it, but I havent had the time to get a decent digicam(mine sucks because its autofocus is not that good), but I'll try to take some cheap-lookin shots by thomorrow.

The exy has one bad thing when you get that quantity of bass:S it rattles a lot! the interior doesnt appear to like BASS too much....

This is the first pic, they are just 2 lil roxford punch (1000w) 10" size.

Image

This is the power Amp, it's underpowered for the bass speakers...but, 400 x 2 sounds really good emoticon .

Image

This is my radio setup, a pioneer deh-7400. It has a nice sound quality, crossover, etc. And plays mp3's emoticon so you can get 300 songs in one cd....

Image

This is a simple electrical connection made by myself.

Everything was installed by a friend of mine, my brother and I.

I'm working on that, I want to order some overzied pioneer speakers 6.5", but i'm not sure if the will fit inside of the doors emoticon .
They are rated at 60rms and 250w peak. (premier line). I'm getting those over ebay. I hope they will be better than the stock ones....

Here is a pic of the AMP i've got for the mid-vfrequency speakers/tweeters.

This is a PYLE 250 x 4 rms speaker system. I'm hoping onto getting this speakers:
