Re: our latest accessory - GME TX3200 UHF Radio - with installation instructions
I have just finished installing a new GME TX4400 UHF CB radio.
I mounted it in the din pocket just above the A/C controls. As it is a full Din radio I took the brackets off the din pocket & attached them to the radio with a couple of rubber spacers to get the right spacing & slotted it back in.
The radio has a front facing speaker so no hassles with an external speaker. I ran the power from a battery positive as I was always annoyed with the old one whenever I restarted the car & had to change back to the channel I was on. Now it will stay on channel whether on the move or stopped.
I use a magnetic base for the antenna as I don't have the aerial on all the time in case it gets pinched.I connected a short piece of coax from the radio to under the front seat with a female connector on the end, so when I put the magnetic base on, the wire just drops down under the seat & gets plugged in.
Paid $320 on ebay for the radio, brand new from a local radio shop & picked it up to save on postage costs.
