posticon Re: Service Costs Comparison

Just done my 10 000km service at my mechanic (Auto Stop) at Wetherill Park, cost me $122.00 using Nissan oil and filter. The service also included a 4 wheel rotation and balance and a test drive and inspection which brought up a couple of issues with my gearbox which has been notchy and slightly crunches into second gear when the car is cold.
I mentioned this to Nissan at the 1000km service but according to their test drive it was normal.
But now I have a second opinion that there might be a syncro problem and its on paper so I will hit Nissan up shortly to replace or rectify and fix the g/box issues. My mechanic also confirmed what I had long suspected about the air-con not working properly and struggling to keep the car cool, although it could just be under gassed. Other problems found were oil stains (slight previous leak) from both rear shocks and ST-S decal is peeling off!

Re: Service Costs Comparison

Hi Guys,

Had my exy serviced for the 80,000Kms service today. This is a major service according to the service schedule and would have lasted over 3 hours labour.

I supplied the following:

* Castrol Synthetic engine oil
* K&N oil filter
* NGK Iridium Spark Plugs

And I asked the dealer not to check the air filter, as I have a CAI emoticon

If you look at what the 80K service includes (see service schedule HERE) you will realize that most of the oils and fluids will be replaced and this includes the following:

* Transmission Oil
* Diff Oil
* Brake Fluid and brake system flush.
* Engine Coolant and complete system flush as well as a full pressure test to check any blockages in the radiator.

The total cost of the 80K service as stated on the dealer's board was $470

I was charged $349 due to supplying some of the parts and this includes the forum loyalty discount.

The dealer was Nissan Rockdale and I am very happy with their service and price.

P.S. Free loan car and free car wash was also included in this service emoticon

The service manager (Alan, who owns an xtrail) was telling me that he started seeing many xtrails with forum stickers and the cool bonnet gas struts come around their dealership and were promoting our forum. Thank you guys! This dealer will look after your xtrails for sure and would offer the forum discount to all those who regularly have their exy serviced with them.

I think we need to do the same with the other states and have our forum partner with a couple of dealers to offer discounts to members of our forum. Who will be our ambassador in the other states to negotiate this deal? emoticon

Re: Service Costs Comparison

Had the 30k service done on Monday with the total being $223.00. The car actually spent around 3 hours at the dealer as i had a rattle in the rear fixed and also the rear power socket.

Thought i might have got some feedback on the great looking bashplate, as i doubt many Exy's they service would have one.

Overall was happy with the job done, the price on the board for the 40 K was $382.00.
Didn't ask if this included front pad change, as they are currently at 30%.

Re: Service Costs Comparison

 Just had the 60,000km and also the 65,000km service done today by UltraTune at Orange. Prior, I had changed the oil (Synthetic 5w30)and filter (K&N HP-1010), the Iridium plugs and K&N air filter didn't need touching and the wipers were new.

 Total price for the log book service: $50.00. emoticon

 This included all fluids checked and topped up, brake inspection, tyres rotated, handbrake tightened and whatever else the manual detailed.

 Reason for the cheap price, they love taking work from the main dealers and want their name to get out. They are passionate about their workmanship and they even washed my car and cleaned the tyres.

 You have to love this kind of service, especially in the country.

 UltraTune, you have my vote.

Re: Service Costs Comparison

Just had my free 1000km service done at Lincorp Automative at Roase Hill yesterday. Overall I'm not very impressed. emoticon

Was told the serivce would take about 45min, no need to book just come in. I was there for 2hrs. They have a free wash with the service but the problem being the car came out dirtier then when it went in.

I had to go to go back today to have a rear seatbelt replaced (it wasn't there yesterday). This time I had booked it in at time. How long do you think it takes to undo a few bolts and replace the belt???? Well I was there for another 2hrs (30mins on me sitting there staring at my exy in the carpark before they took it into the shop). Then service manager offered no reason for the length of time and no apology for the fact I spent 4 hrs in 2 days there. I won't be going back....

They had serivce pricing on the wall. The minor services for the exy:
Minor (10,000, 30,000, etc) $249
Major (20,000 etc) $345

Seems a bit steep to me.

I will be going back to Ultra Tune at Drummoyne where they have looked after me for the last few years.

Re: Service Costs Comparison

Scott,

 After receiving similar poor service with the dealer, I have been a long-term ULTRA-TUNE customer and never looked back. Their service is unreal and they don't mind you doing some of the service, it oil/filter/plugs etc. Saves heaps off the price, due to labour costs. emoticon

Re: Service Costs Comparison

Further to the dealer experience not only did they take 2 hours to change the seatbelt, but I have now found that the scuff plate has been cracked when changing the seatbelt. Not happy. Spoke to the service manager and he wants us to take the exy back to him to look at so he can order a part. I'm insisting he gets the scuff plate in then I will go there.

SO far I'm not very impressed with the after sales service from Nissan (but the exy itself is great). Still waiting for the survey to come so I can put my feelings on paper. The salesman was quite insistent they we give him a good rating because the survey IS actually used by management to monitor performance.

Re: Service Costs Comparison

Hi All,

Picked up my (new to me) X-Trail today and looking at the service book the service intervals are every 5000km but I see very little reference to this in this thread, only 10,000km intervals????

Cheers,
Mark.
