Re: Will you let a subie in on your trips

Hi jimbob74,

Welcome to the xtrail forum.

The answer is simply *yes* emoticon

In fact we're arranging an all-type 4WD trip to Stockton Beach for the 19th of March and you will be most welcome to join us.

Check-out the Events section for more details:

http://com1.runboard.com/baustralianxtrail.fevents.t19

I will move your other question/post to the "Events" section, as it would be best asked there.

I agree Jalal that any make should be able to attend and what a way to find out which make is the best outside of the magazines.

We'll call it:

The Stockton Rally Day emoticon

I can picture a couple or more of the reporters/car critics sniffing news about this meet-up and placing their bets on some of our 4WDs emoticon

I have to remind everyone though, that this is in no way an official or a formally organised trip by the Australian xtrail forum or anybody on this forum.

Therefore all risks associated with such a function would need to be considered by each and every driver/owner attending. (this includes by not limited to the after-adventure night gathering at the caravan park emoticon )

I just want to remind everyone to check their car insurance policies are up to date.

That is a Good Piece of Advice because im not sure how the insurance works. But should be covered as it is a Public Location and not private property.

I will contact my insurance company to discuss this.

Cost for the weekend pass is $12

This probably should be copied into the Stockton thread... Just in case someone tries to claim that there was no disclaimer (in the unfortunate and unlikely event that something goes wrong)

I think it would be good to get some more foresters there (assuming you have a Forester)... It was the "other car" I was thinking of getting when looking for a 4WD. Clare and I both agreed that the interior felt more cramped than the X-Trail (not intending to put down Foresters or their owners); the main reason I wanted a Forester was because the GT came with a turbo emoticon The ground clearance was similar, but after further research I believe the approach and departure angles aren't as good on the Forester as they are on the X-Trail.

On our recent holidays we saw a Forester which had been through Misty Mountains & No Name Fire Trails, and if it got there without hassles (we spoke to the owner over lunch) then it is more capable than I thought.

Thanks Rich,

Geoff has copied this information and it has been posted in the "events" section, which is now applicable to all self organised trips /meet-ups that are taking place on this forum.
