Where can I see on the rims what the rim width is? There are no markings visible on the outside of the rim.

If it's not stamped on the inside of the rim (looking at your spare is probably the easiest as it's already facing the right way up to look inside the rim), then you can look towards the back of the owner's manual...

I'm guessing it's a 7JJ. I think the JJ is the code used to indicate the offset? Someone else feel free to correct me on this.

Re: AT tyres

Hi Wayne,

Welcome to the Australian X-Trail Forums.

The factory tyres are usuallly very restrictive and not suitable for all road conditions. I only got 36,000km out of my 16" Bridgestone 689 on-road tyres. Admittedly I didn’t get any wheel alignments either which is probably the cause for the low kms.

If you want a harder compound your better off going for an A/T tyre. Finding an A/T tyre for the 15" rims for the X-Trail can be very difficult. You don’t have to stick with the standard 215/70/15 profiles either.

If you have a look on our main page HERE under the “Technical” section you will find a Tyre Calculator. You can alter the widths and profiles of your tyres so long as you stay under 3% difference you will be fine.

Bridgestone have an A/T tyre in 215/75/15 (D694) which would be suitable for you. One of our members in Sydney has these, and paid $906.45 + GST for 5 of them. As reported you can expect some loss of power and higher fuel consumption with these heavier duty tyres.

If you want a wider range of choice in tyres, I also suggest switching to 16" rims. emoticon
