AT tyres

I pick up my xtrail in a few weeks and I am trying to find some AT tyres to put on it. I have called a few tyre places and they say its hard to source AT tyres for the xtrail.

Is this been the experience of others?

Does anyone have AT's on their xtrail?

If so what brand, size etc.

Re: AT tyres

Embi,
I don't know what others have put on their X-Trails, but the Cooper A/Ts look okay in 225/70/15. Gives you a little bit extra width and hieght over the standard Toyo tyres. They're certainly my choice when I can afford to put them on.

Come to think of it, I don't suppose anyone wants to help me out by buying my standard 15inch Toyos off me (Just over 10,000Km on four and brand new spare)????

Re: AT tyres

I am getting a Ti-L and they have the 16 inch wheels.

Does anyone here use 70/30 AT's on a Ti?

Re: AT tyres

I have found a great deal on these Image at Bridgestone.

A well balanced performer, the G011A/T+II performs from sand to gravel to bitumen, with a proven durability that's sure to please the most discerning of 4WD owners. Twin wide circumferential grooves and a highly functional tread block pattern optimise handling on wet surfaces and disperse water efficiently to improve grip and stability in the wet. Yokohama's unique "Dan Dan" (step formation) inner tread block maximises surface area of groove wall and expands the lateral edge elements. Combined these promote superior self cleaning and better traction off road.

$195/tyre with a $100/tyre change over means $95 each. Fantastic I say

Re: AT tyres

Embi,

You've got more options for aftermarket tyres with the 16inch wheels...

I've posted about this in another thread here (see towards the end of page 1 of the previously-linked thread by grayham).

$100/tyre changeover price was the best I could find, and that was through a mate as well, so you did well to get that price I reckon. I still reckon the shop would be in front at that price because theye'd be able to sell the tyres as brand new if they've still got the rubber knobs/needles on the tread...
