Re: Performance Enhancers
Hi Guys,
I was driving today near Lewisham (Sydney) and stopped at a set of lights when something shiny caught me eye (you know my passion for chrome) anyway, I turned around and saw this muffler shop with every type of stainless steel muffler you can imagine, so I signalled and drove into the workshop.
What can I do for ya? The guy asked and I told him how much would it cost to replace the entire exhaust system from after the cat. (Including the small muffler under the car) and all the way to the rear muffler and replace the chunky muffler I now have with a sports type and TWO functioning exhaust pipes and tips "all in stainless steel"?
The guy said, sure, we can do this for you and it you would notice a definite improvement in power and fuel economy and the prices comes to $880 all up.
I thought it was a good price (but am not sure) as this the 1st time I ask about this type of mod.
Anyway, these guys are well known in Australia and they're called Hitech Mufflers they do have workshops in QLD as well.
Check them out and please let me know what you boyz think.
Am very interested now

Re: Performance Enhancers
Be careful of those internet "instant power" gimmicks: 90% of them are complete B.S.
I just bought an Xtrail, and I love it- I moved out of hi-performance sport compacts to buy one. I know from experience how much fun it can be to trick out a ride.
With regards to performance modifications, but the 2.5 that's here in Canada is, if I'm not mistaken, the same engine that's in the Sentra Spec V. This means there should be a extremely large amount of easily-compatible performance mods available, if not from Nissan then from aftermarket suppliers.
Being from Canada, I only know what Xtrail products are available here- and its slim pickings so far.

Re: Performance Enhancers
Hi, been reading you guys for 3 weeks now; and have had agood time. I have a 2002 exy ST, just back after recall. It actually goes better after leaving the dealership, for the first time in 3 years. They only fitted a front exhaust cover, and adjusted the O2 sensor. It is due for 50k service and will receive NKG iridium sparks after all my research. Picked them up at Viking for $17 each at Bargo.[of all places] Not letting Nissan do any more servicing, even though I have 2 yrs extra warranty. Clem

Re: Performance Enhancers
Hi all, could someone fill me in on the K&N filters mentioned in this discussion? I went back but couldn't find any details. Thanks for your answers on my "scared new buyer" questions, I hope to be ordering our new Ti in the next couple of weeks.
Thanks again,
Bill

Re: Performance Enhancers
Hi Guys,
I have started copying across items from the JAOS Japanese Accessories web site which relate specifically to performance enhancements.
These 2 sport exhausts can be found there as well.
When I did the on-line currency conversion from Yen to the Aussie Dollar, the price came-up as $560AUS each. (excluding shipping)
