Maybe you got the defective shim kit as mine, only that I got 4 new calipers(they all have too much movement).

Re: Suspension & Brake noise

Hi Guys,

I would be interested to hear from '04 and '05 exy owners if they're hearing the same noises from their suspension.

Mine has started playing the symphony since last week and it's the rear driver's side that’s making the noises.

I'll be mentioning this to the dealer next time I take it there.

Re: Suspension & Brake noise

Hi,
Wifes car had similar noise from the left front end. She took to Nissan and after test drive was told would, need to order parts. Returned one week latter to have parts fitted. She picked up and noise was all, but gone. Tryed to ask the wife what they replaced she replied, no idea I just signed the paper. Anyway had a look around and as far a I can see have replaced the suspention tower, may have done more but thats the only new part I can see or that is not dusty. X-trail is a 04 with around 15,000 on the clock.

You guys obviously don't have the radio turned up loud enough. emoticon
That will drown out any funny little noises.

I have had a strange noise a couple of times when braking, especially with one wheel on loose dirt & the other on the bitumen, but I figured it was the ABS.

Re: Suspension & Brake noise

My suspension (mainly at the rear) makes noises when I get out too Jalal. It's not like I weigh a lot either! I haven't really worried about it ... yet. But if there's a fix, let me know!

Will do Nathan. I actually first thought it's the hand-brake, but then tried parking without applying the hand-brake and get the same noise.

Re: Suspension & Brake noise

Well in my opinion its a fairly normal sympton in all rear-brake disc equiped cars. Its because there is a drum inside of the hub that is activated by a cable, even when you are not applyin the handbrake the cable has tension, so you get the groan when you rock the car side to side. My other cars with rear brake disc (skoda superb) does the same as the x-trail.

Re: Suspension & Brake noise

So Jalal, did you have anything done to fix the squeak ?
I've had this for a few months now and just thought the springs had dirt under their seats.
