Suspension & Brake noise

Does anyone suffer from a squeak in the suspension when entering or existing their vehicle? I can also get the noise by rocking the car side to side. Of course it doesn't make the noise when you take it to the dealer for an inspection!!

The other noise I have is when applying the brakes when the car is cold, they make a pronounced clunking noise when applying pressure to the brake pedal. Once again the noise doesn't happen when the mechanic is testing it.

Anyone else with similar issues?

Regards

Mine does the same. Seems to come from the back suspension. Never really bothered me. Its more of a creak in mine.

Creak or groan probably sums it up better than a squeak!!!

Re: Suspension & Brake noise

Yep - ditto!

I actually thought it sounded more like the exhaust moving on it's holders, but if someone is also getting it on the left hand side, I'd say you're right with it being suspension related...

Maybe the shockies??? Weird - I suppose I could just spray everything with WD and make sure everything is properly greased! emoticon

It doesn't sound serious enough to take in for warranty work and my next service is a few months away emoticon If someone could ask next time they are near their dealer and let us know!!

Re: Suspension & Brake noise

Had the same noise. On the second attempt the dealer managed to fixed it or what ever. I will see if they can tell me what they did and get back.

Re: Suspension & Brake noise

Hi All,
Contacted dealer yesterday about what they did to fix rear suspension squeaking. Here's what they did.
1st attempt
Lubricate all rear suspension components
No change

2nd attempt
Loosen all rear suspension components, allowed car to settle, drove a short distance, retension all rear suspension components to manufactures specifications.
This was 1000k's ago now, still no squeak

Hope this helps

Darryl

What dealer Daryl? Sounds like they know their stuff. Good chance to give them a wrap.

Re: Suspension & Brake noise

Duxbac,

The noise from your brakes when you first move off is more than likely the ABS completing a self test so wouldn't stress
