Re: Real time engine stats on laptop - conzult Hi Guys
Only just came across this post.
I bought an ELMSCAN-5 Bluetooth (scantool.net) middle 2008 to troubleshoot an 1995 jackeroo.
Allthough it did communicate with the ECU it was not getting a lot of info.
The jackeroo was probably not completely pin compatible since 1996 was the year car were suppose to be compatible with OBD-II (USA first, Europe and Asia Later I believe). Tried on several newer cars and worked flawless.
Allthough I haven't had any reason to hook it up to my exy 2009 I'll try it in the next couple of days, time permitting and let you know.
May have to update the software.
Rgds....Andre

Re: Real time engine stats on laptop - conzult Mike
I have just bought the OBDLink from Scantool.net and can report that it works fine with my 08 ST petrol.
I chose the OBDLink because it is compattible with many different protocols and should work with most makes and models, as long as they are OBD2 compliant of course.
The software is quite comprehensive and the unit comes with easy to read set up instructions.
Cost $99.00 USD which I thought was good value compared to the hand held unit I was considering at one stage that was several hundred plus dollars.
