The CB is in

Hi Guys,

Just finished installing the CB this morning. Now Im live! Happy to report that there were no problems with the installation thanks to Rich, Peter and Jalal. The only difficulty I had was locating a suitable antenna bracket for the bullbar. Two local guys wanted to charge me almost double the internet price so I purchased from a company in Lake Macquarie and they delivered it in a day at the price I wanted. I must say it looks great and works very well emoticon

Another happy customer!

You're welcome Greg emoticon

Would have been good to take pics of the installation for others to have a look at should they decide to do the same emoticon

Here they are. The aerial was mounted off centre over the spottie to make it easier to open the hood. The CB has been fitted directly below the Climate control.

I have not mounted the mic as the unit will be removed when not being used. The aerial also unscrews easily for storage when not being used.

Looks very nice and professionaly done Greg emoticon

Have you made a special removable bracket for CB or you just gonna pull it out when not in use?

I haven't come across this cool antena brackets before and it looks very practical.

Re: The CB is in

I made up my own bracket out of a small scrap piece of galvanised sheeting. It took a bit of mucking around bit it worked in the end...

Re: The CB is in

Thanks Jalal,

The CB comes with a slide out bracket which is screwed to the mounting plate. The CB easily slides out by spreading the tabs either side. All you have to do is disconnect the power and aerial cable and your done. I got the power directly from the cig lighter and earthed on the CB bracket. Could not be easier!

I was going to make my own bracket at work but this one looks the part and was only $34. You could not make it for that price given the quality. Its from GME and the part number is MB104SS - 63mm. See http://www.lakecomm.com.au/uhfant&acc.html

That's very cool Greg, you've given me enough ammunition to seriously start looking for one LOL emoticon

I have 2 spare DIN's, but one is already reserved for the in-dash DVD player emoticon (which I haven't bought yet by the way)
