Re:
Hi Guys,
For those who asked me about the engine cover during our last trip to Coffs Harbour, please note that I gave these part numbers to the local Nissan dealer and they said they're now available in Australia and can be ordered within 2 working days. Prices as follows:
14041-JG30A (T31 X-Trail engine cover) $176.00
14049-JA00B (Lower Bracket) $10.80
I haven't priced the 10mm bolts, but they shouldn't be expensive anyway.
So here you go, you can now order your very own Exy engine cover for your T31 petrol

Re: Engine Cover (Genuine & Aftermarket)
Hi Guys,
I received the X-TRAIL Engine Cover and bracket today and I can confirm that they're 100% suited and made for the T31 Exy (Petrol), but don't forget to order the 2 large bolts that hold the bracket and the 3 small bolts that hold the engine cover in place. Lucky for me I had all these bolts from the T30 engine cover, so the installation process was completed without any problems.
Here is the engine cover bracket bolted onto the engine head:
You can clearly see the difference between the X-TRAIL (right) and Sentra Spec-V (left) engine covers in this photo:
The Exy one is a bit larger. It doesn't come with the Nissan badge, so I have removed this badge from the Sentra cover and used a dremel to drill 4 small holes for the Nissan badge to fit. If you do decide to get a Nissan badge for your engine cover, you must make sure it is heat resistant, otherwise it will melt.
Here is the new exy engine cover all fitted in place.
The part numbers I provided in my previous post are correct and you can order this engine cover from any Nissan dealer.

Re:
I remember doing that a lot when I had mine, the only way I knew it was running was by looking at the tacho.
