These speaker covers on the dash are removable and in your case I believe they don't contain anything. Other models they would contain 2 tweeters (making the total number of speakers 6)

You would already have the wiring for the tweeters there.

The factory tweeters look like this:

Re: New Premium Sound System for X-Trail

If anyone is considering changing their Series II double DIN in-dash CD then you should consider this new unit from Pioneer:

Pioneer AVHP6850DVD

Not sure how well it would fit in the X-Trail dash but if I had the spare cash I would be seriously considering it. It supports all the current add-on goodies that Pioneer have (iPod, Bluetooth & Vehicle Dynamics Processor) as well as containing a 6 CD/DVD stacker.

That would look very cool indeed.

Ouch Adam! emoticon

Let me see if I can find it cheaper than that emoticon

EDIT: My first search, came-up with a $1,999 price tag already (not a bad price drop) but still not cheap enough for me LOL

LOL! I deliberately did not mention the price as that is the manufacturers rrp, as you well know, you NEVER go by an rrp!!

There is one on eBay (in Australia) for $1,399 at the moment, and another for $1,699.

These tweeters are available from Nissan? And can plug straight in? Any DIY listed in forum for this? Do they make much difference to the sound quality?

Re: New Premium Sound System for X-Trail

Hi Glen,

Yes, these tweeters are available from Nissan and they cost a fortune, but you can get them for a fraction of their cost from HERE I still have plenty of them available.

They're a plug and play type of tweeters as you would already have the wiring there for them. All you'd need to do is remove the speaker covers and screw these tweeters in place.

Yes, they do make a difference to the sound indeed.

Re: New Premium Sound System for X-Trail

I agree with Jalal this was the most significant upgrade to my system I don't have the Nissan tweeters but they would be just as good and the key words mount, plug and play (listen)
