Re: New Premium Sound System for X-Trail

Well guys, I have upgraded from the standard ST head-unit to the TI 6cd stacker and I can tell you that the sound output and radio reception is much better on the ST head-unit for some very strange reason.

I was listening to the radio with the volume set to 17 and the window open comfortably on with the ST head-unit.

With this one (the Ti stacker) I find myself pumping-up the volume to 30 to get the same sound clearness.

I think the built-in Amp on the ST one is better. (Am not sure how else to explain this drop in performance)

Jalal,

It's probably because of all the extra chrome accessories (with LEDs) you are carrying on board now that's not allowing the Exy to able to supply enough power to the head unit! emoticon

I will go past the wreckers one day. Seems like there are some bargains to snapped up. Hopefully they would have the multi purpose console as well!

ps Up near Grampians in Victoria through work. Wish I had the Exy, some very good scene tracks and camping up here.

cheers

Multi-purpose console? Doubt it. It's not a Nissan Australia item, but you never know.

Are you inviting us (Sydneysiders) for a Melbourne gathering/meet-up and action? I'm in emoticon

Hi Rob,

Not sure what series Ti stacker you have, but I have the one from a Series II Ti-Luxury and it does have the volume counter displayed on the screen.

I believe the Series I Ti stacker doesn't have that, but it has the casette player (which mine doesn't)

HERE is mine.

Jalal,
Sydney siders are always welcome, as long as the Swans loose and the Melbourne Storm wins that weekend emoticon
Don't forget to bring your hat and sunscreen, raincoat and ski gear just in case. Anything is possible to happen in a day in Victoria.

For those who are in the market to upgrade the car stereo then there is a nice Pioneer Unit (Double Din) thats plays MP3 and comes with a remote on e-Bay for around $345!

Hi Guys,

I have changed my roof antenna to a "chrome" one and that for some reason has solved the radio reception problem I previously had. Radio reception is perfectly clear now.

Re: New Premium Sound System for X-Trail

Hi all

JB hifi are having a sale this week, so I may look at a MP3/wma head unit. I'm happy enough with the standard speakers (or I can't justify spending big $$ to get better ones anyway.)

I'll have a go at installing it too, unless anyone has had a bad experience with ripping out the standard unit?? I believe you can buy the plug-in adapter for the standard wiring loom?

Cheers
Brenton
