They're a plug and play type of tweeters as you would already have the wiring there for them. All you'd need to do is remove the speaker covers and screw these tweeters in place. Yes, they do make a difference to the sound indeed.nondisclosed_email@example.com (jalalski)Mon, 15 Jan 2007 13:06:46 +0000 Re: New Premium Sound System for X-Trailhttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p1996445,from=rss#post1996445https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p1996445,from=rss#post1996445quote:jalalski wrote: These speaker covers on the dash are removable and in your case I believe they don't contain anything. Here goes again... I believe the Nissan adapter is pretty universal - it's supposed to fit all Nissans from '95 on. I suppose this is possible - all stereos would have the same basic in/out wires... I bought them from Autobarn - the Nissan adapter (APP0120) was $16.99 and the Pioneer adapter (APP8PIO) was $13.99. The unit is a Pioneer DEH-P6750MP that I bought from JB Hifi during their sale over the weekend. RRP is apparently $700 (uh huh) but I paid well under $400. There's a few going on Ebay at the moment, around the $300 mark, but in case anything goes wrong, I have a shop, in Australia, to go back to - and a 5 year warranty thrown in! Oh and I have dolphins!! Jalal, thanks for sorting out the install guide for me. I didn't know that these adaptors existed for our head-units and I had to pay $50 to have the Series II 6 stack CD changer re-wired to fit my series I exy, as the harness was different at the back (series I has one wiring harness, series II has two) These adaptors would have done the job perfectly. I might need different adaptors as I have a series II Ti which has the in-dash cd changer (double DIN size). I think Aerpro do them though so should be able to do the same. Where did you buy them? One plugs into the factory harness, and has the standard ISO plugs at the other end. The other adapter I bought has the standard ISO plugs and goes directly into the new Pioneer head unit that I bought - no rewiring needed at all! Saved me heaps of time. Not expensive either - one was $14, the other $17. Here's the Nissan one - ...and the Pioneer one - I've done some DIY instructions for changing the audio head unit, once I work out where to host it, I'll let everyone know. And here's the new unit - Cheers Brenton nondisclosed_email@example.com (harryzell)Mon, 31 Oct 2005 15:55:37 +0000 Re: New Premium Sound System for X-Trailhttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p873316,from=rss#post873316https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p873316,from=rss#post873316quote:I believe you can buy the plug-in adapter for the standard wiring loom? I was listening to the radio with the volume set to 17 and the window open comfortably on with the ST head-unit. With this one (the Ti stacker) I find myself pumping-up the volume to 30 to get the same sound clearness. I think the built-in Amp on the ST one is better. The idea of a double din head unit is nice since it will fit in perfectly, but since I was born after the dark ages I have no need for a cassette player, and there seems no other reason for having a double din deck if it has exactly the same features as a single din but just takes up twice the space... Im looking at a product that is about to be released in Australia called the Infill T3 which is basically a PC computer inside a double din case with a pop out lcd monitor. Ive no clue on the price yet but I think it will be several k - so too much for me have a look at, http://www.maxice.com.au  he is the importer... I think what I will end up doing is scouting around on ebay for a high spec laptop with a broken screen, mount that under my seat - connect a 7 inch touchscreen which will fit perfectly in the double din slot in the exy - attach an external dvd/cd drive and put that in the lower din slot on the dash - stick a wireless adsl card in the laptop, plus USB sat nav, plus wireless lan. So then, as long as the comp in the car is powered up, I can connect wirelessly from the house, transfer all my music and video needs straight to the car. Also, via the external drive in the car I can play cds and dvds just like a normal head unit, plus access mobile internet while driving, plus access GPS and satellite navigation. Im guessing a total budget of $2000 should get me there with no worries, Id be surprised if I didnt get away under $1500. As far as speakers go - Ill be trying out some Jaycar kevlar splits and two ways in the near future - from what I can gather they will fit perfectly in place of the oem speakers - and bang for buck you simply cannot beat them!
