posticon Hello from France !

Hello there !
I'm a french X-trailer and I've just discovered your very nice site after Master "jalaski" emoticon came to our x-trail forum to invite us to a chat on last saturday.
Unfortunately I was away on that occasion... emoticon

There seem to be many differences between x-trailers all over the world...and however
one common interest : our favorite car !
(anyway...the one we can afford... emoticon)
For instance I noticed that most people here talk about petrol engine x-trails...do you have so few diesel engines in Australia ?

I may have to ask you silly looking questions at the beginning...sorry about that...but my english is not very good...
Thanks for your help and welcome to those we can help here or on our forum :

Just HERE !
Bye ! emoticon

We don't have the diesel x-trail in Australia, only the 2.5 petrol. If there are any, they would have been imported.

Re: Hello from France !

Thanks !
In France you have the choice between :
-2.0 liters petrol
-2.5 liters petrol (I'm not sure...I'll check...)
-2.2 liters diesel oil
Like most frenchpeople mine is a 2.2 diesel (100kW).
One reason is that diesel oil is cheaper here:
1.70 AU$/liter for diesel oil and petrol is 2,11 AU$/liter...
There are very few people here who enhance the power of there car because we have more and more speedcameras and most people respect the speed limits : 80 Mph on motorways and 30 mph in towns... emoticon
So... investing in expensive chips is not worth it here.
Bye! emoticon

Re: Hello from France !

Salut Fargo and welcome to our forum.

I'm glad you could make it and hopefully we will see many more French xtrailers here in the future emoticon

As Noel already mentioned, there will be more live chat sessions in the future and we look forward to chatting with you and many others then.

As far as power chips are concerned, we also respect speed limits here in Australia, but if we can get a bit more power which we can feel at the traffic lights when standing in line with other cars, we would jump at that opportunity emoticon

There is no better feeling than seeing another driver with a sporty looking car opens his mouth in disbelief when he sees an xtrail disappear in a blink of an eye. hehehe emoticon

But that is NOT the main reason many of us bought the xtrail, it is a family type of car after all and we do enjoy exploring the limits and off-road capabilities of the xtrail when we can.

I have seen you guys do the same, which is excellent and something we do indeed have in common.

See you around and please let us know if you need any help.

Re: Hello from France !

OK !
To be honest,we all would like to get a bit more power, even here in France... emoticon
but we have very few information about enhancing diesel engines...
Some say they did it but don't give any details about the chip they used ...or other things to do...
That's why most of us are quite suspicious about that...
I have not spent much time on your forum yet but I think I'll find posts about that subject.
Congratulations for your shop where we can find equipments which are not available here !
Thanks

Next time I will try and get more UK guys in the live chat, as they have diesel xtrails and had them since 2001, so they can give you more information in this regard.

No problems, if there is anything we can help you guys with, let us know by either emailing the shop direct or our admin email.

It seems like you guys have all available versions of the xtrail, except the GT emoticon

With the price of the top of the line xtrail being around $59,000AUS !!!! Ouch!

The diesel is more expensive in Australia than petrol emoticon
