Another Melburnian

Hi All.

Excellent forum. Well done to the Admin team!

Just a quick intro. My name is Daniel and I live in the South Eastern suburbs of Melbourne. I'm picking up my new baby (Platinum MY05 X-Trail Ti-L) on Saturday so no pics yet. Can't wait!! emoticon

For those interested, I've got a few extra bits and pieces, but not too much yet - it's coming with towbar, alloy nudge, cargo blind, tinted windows and I had the standard tyres changed over to BFG A/T's.

No doubt there will be plenty more added to it as time goes on. First up will be my UHF radio (GME TX3400) which I've pulled out of my Wrangler which I traded in. I'm also looking at adding a nice pair of Lightforce to the front and from there who knows what else! emoticon

Anyway, that's me. I'll probably post some pics once I've picked it up. Look forward to see you all around and contributing to the forum any way I can.

Cheers,

D.

Hi Daniel and welcome!

I'm looking forward to your photos and seeing what LightForce lights you pick emoticon

What's the difference between the TX3400 and the 3200?

How do you compare the Jeep to the X-Trail (maybe wait until after you've picked it up first before you reply emoticon ).

Thanks Rich.

As far as the lights go, we'll have to wait and see what the budget allows, but I have my eye on the 240 Blitz. emoticon

I think the only difference between the ]3400 and the ]3200 is that the 3400 has a remote head. Makes it a bit easier to place. Probably less of an issue with the X-Trail, but was definitely a consideration with the Wrangler.

I don't think it's really fair to compare the two vehicles. The Wrangler was a true off-road vehicle and to that extent is a great car but it has it's shortcomings. I've bought the X-Trail because I decided I wanted some luxury in my life. That being said, I'm still looking forward to getting it dirty and seeing just how capable it is off the bitumen! emoticon

Hi Daniel,

And Welcome to the Forums.

No doubt am sure David M will also be here to welcome you. Seems like we are getting quite a few members from Melbourne signing up recently.

Cheers

Welcome Daniel. We're getting quite a group in Melbourne, though spread from side to side. When things settle down a bit we might have to try to get together.

Re: Another Melburnian

G'day Daniel. Welcome mate. I can't believe how much time I spend on this forum since I stumbled across it. Our Vic numbers are growing, so boys, and girls, in the north beware.

The Wrangler was one of the cars I was considering, looks tough, built tough, however given the current economic climate, fuel consumption and personal comfort came into play and decided on the Exxy as well (couldn't stomach a RAV4, interior of CRV better than exxy, exterior exxy wins hands down)

We may have to get some Melburnians together (I think I'm the loner from the West) so if anyone else is interested in a day cruise or whatever... we'll have to organise something soon.
