It'll be a waste to have such information contained in an "Intro" type of thread and it'll make it harder for others to find this information when they need it.nondisclosed_email@example.com (jalalski)Fri, 02 Jun 2006 12:56:31 +0000 Re: Intro: Newbie to this fantastic forumhttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p873092,from=rss#post873092https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p873092,from=rss#post873092Hi Vik, Haha thanks for the compliment, however I wont be mod-crazy as I once was. True, this forum is like an encyclopedia for X-trail. The current deal does not include window tinting as only myself know exactly what I want. I plan to go for the lighter colour with maximum UV protection (is there such a thing?) as I have a problem seeing through dark tinting in rainy & dark night. Looks like I have to wait for another week for the car, the dealer is too lazy to ship the car from Sydney West nondisclosed_email@example.com (Z1000)Fri, 02 Jun 2006 12:32:52 +0000 Re: Intro: Newbie to this fantastic forumhttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p873091,from=rss#post873091https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p873091,from=rss#post873091Z100, From your enthusiam about mods I can already see a modding monster in the making and this forum will only make you a better one. If it's not too late then ask for a discount on yr current deal for your tinting costs. You can use this saving to get a tint of your choice. Don't get them to tint it for you because you might get a lighter tint than what you'd prefer. Some of us would rather have a darker tint on ours' than to what the dealer supplied us with. From what I understand, the only difference between ST-S and series II is the exhaust bit, but important parts such as brake system, electrical wiring should remain the same (I'd like to be proved wrong here). Are there significant differences between series I and II, other than cosmetic differences inside out? nondisclosed_email@example.com (Z1000)Thu, 01 Jun 2006 17:27:18 +0000 Re: Intro: Newbie to this fantastic forumhttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p873086,from=rss#post873086https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p873086,from=rss#post873086quote:Z1000 wrote: Re electronic service manual, does it have an accurate representation of the current OZ model as I have known some electronic versions are next to useless. Cheers. William, because you have purchased the ST-S you gonna need to buy the manual that is similar to the Canadian X-Trail version, as it is exactly the same as yours (except LHD) so your best bet is to go to eBay Canada and score one from there. The one that are being sold locally would only cover Series I and II (not the ST-S) nondisclosed_email@example.com (jalalski)Thu, 01 Jun 2006 17:08:46 +0000 Re: Intro: Newbie to this fantastic forumhttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p873085,from=rss#post873085https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p873085,from=rss#post873085quote:Z1000 wrote: Thanks for the info Rybky. Do a search on eBay and you'll find plenty of them there. As Adam correctly pointed out, the cat-back (Twins) system does not affect warranty at all. As a new member I encourage you to familiarize yourself with the following section of the forum: Newbie Forum Guides A name and location would also be great nondisclosed_email@example.com (jalalski)Thu, 01 Jun 2006 15:02:01 +0000 Re: Intro: Newbie to this fantastic forumhttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p873081,from=rss#post873081https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p873081,from=rss#post873081Hi Z1000! Welcome! Where are you? You don't need to worry about warranty to get the cat-back exhaust system, it will not effect it. You can always get the extractors later when the warranty expires, that is what I am going to do this year if the finances are available. The improvement in power, look, sound and ground clearance alone make the cat-back system worthwhile. What do you mean by "service menu"? In the service costs comparison thread there is a link to the official Nissan service schedule for the X-Trail, if that is what you mean? nondisclosed_email@example.com (Rybky)Thu, 01 Jun 2006 14:35:05 +0000 Intro: Newbie to this fantastic forumhttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p873080,from=rss#post873080https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p873080,from=rss#post873080Hello all, This site rocks. Thanks to several key contributors, you have made this forum as informative as it could be. I am yet to take the delivery of a '06 silver ST-S, and already I have read through several good threads in this forum, so now I am now ready for mods once the car is mine. I will wait for three years before I do the exhaust mod. But my priority at the moment is to get the car window tinted, change the car stereo and sound-insulate the car, add strut bar, and then head off into the bush around Sydney. oh, one last thing, does anyone know where to obtain a service menu cheaply for the car? Please PM me. Cheers.   nondisclosed_email@example.com (Z1000)Thu, 01 Jun 2006 14:10:20 +0000
