Intro: Newbie to this fantastic forum

Hello all,

This site rocks. Thanks to several key contributors, you have made this forum as informative as it could be.

I am yet to take the delivery of a '06 silver ST-S, and already I have read through several good threads in this forum, so now I am now ready for mods once the car is mine.

I will wait for three years before I do the exhaust mod. But my priority at the moment is to get the car window tinted, change the car stereo and sound-insulate the car, add strut bar, and then head off into the bush around Sydney.

oh, one last thing, does anyone know where to obtain a service menu cheaply for the car? Please PM me.

Cheers.

Hi Z1000! Welcome!

Where are you?

You don't need to worry about warranty to get the cat-back exhaust system, it will not effect it. You can always get the extractors later when the warranty expires, that is what I am going to do this year if the finances are available. The improvement in power, look, sound and ground clearance alone make the cat-back system worthwhile.

What do you mean by "service menu"? In the service costs comparison thread there is a link to the official Nissan service schedule for the X-Trail, if that is what you mean?

Welcome Z1000

I think you mean the service manual

This can be obtained through eBay and all copies sold are just that "copies" which makes them illegal for distribution here on our forum.

Do a search on eBay and you'll find plenty of them there.

As Adam correctly pointed out, the cat-back (Twins) system does not affect warranty at all.

As a new member I encourage you to familiarize yourself with the following section of the forum: ]Newbie Forum Guides

A name and location would also be great emoticon

Thanks Jalalski. Sorry for the typo, I meant manual not menu.

Re electronic service manual, does it have an accurate representation of the current OZ model as I have known some electronic versions are next to useless.

Cheers.

Thanks for the info Rybky. If I remmember correctly, the twin setup is about $700 installed, isn't?

I am in the inner city area of Sydney. I shall update my location info once I get my head around the control panel thingie.

William, some further details on the Hi-Tech exhaust for the X-Trail can be found in the forum shop ([sign in to see URL]) which has a link to a thread all about them including prices. Lots of other goodies in the shop to relieve you of all the disposable income we all have lying around!! emoticon

William, because you have purchased the ST-S you gonna need to buy the manual that is similar to the Canadian X-Trail version, as it is exactly the same as yours (except LHD) so your best bet is to go to eBay Canada and score one from there.

The one that are being sold locally would only cover Series I and II (not the ST-S)

Re: Intro: Newbie to this fantastic forum

Thanks Jalal.

From what I understand, the only difference between ST-S and series II is the exhaust bit, but important parts such as brake system, electrical wiring should remain the same (I'd like to be proved wrong here).

Are there significant differences between series I and II, other than cosmetic differences inside out?

William,

The exhaust system is different for sure, I can't say the same about the wiring and other parts (I have not checked)

We already know that there is a difference in wiring between Series I and II (other than the obvious cosmetic differences)

Roger (Canada's FarEast) can confirm if his manual covers BOTH RHD and LHD, because if it does, it'll be what you need to get.
