I've towed my brothers boat a lot now. Once over 300km. It's an old fibreglass boat, not sure of the length, but more than 4m. It weighs well over 1500kg, but not as high as the 2t limit. I've never had any problems, and until I got the Exy, I had never towed before.. so I'm still novice. I tow in the AUTO mode, and have overdrive off. You shouldn't have any problems... welcome to the forum!nondisclosed_email@example.com (Naff)Wed, 01 Mar 2006 11:23:33 +0000 Re: newbie trailerhttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p873065,from=rss#post873065https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p873065,from=rss#post873065thanks for the warning one saving grace with a boat over the Motor bike trailer is that the majority of the weight is sitting behind the trailer axel (the motor), and also i wont be towing close to the 2 tonne mark, but your point is well noted, and i will make sure to give the car a good test out before i do any major towing with it. nondisclosed_email@example.com (mickj82)Wed, 01 Mar 2006 10:47:22 +0000 Re: newbie trailerhttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p873064,from=rss#post873064https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p873064,from=rss#post873064Mick,  Firstly welcome to the forum. You will find this an excellent site for ALL of your needs and wants.  Of more importance, I note that you intend towing a boat. If I can find one fault in the exee, is the problems associated with pulling large weights. Due to being front wheel drive, any excess weight on the towball, plus the weight in the rear cargo area, can leave the front wheels VERY light. By this I mean, there is ALOT more pressure over the rear tyres than there is over the front. The exee kind of squats down at the back.  Recently I attended an accident where a bloke with an exee was towing a custom motor bike trailer. He told us that he tried to turn a corner, but the car went straight ahead. His trailer was close to 2 tonne, but there was only 140kg towball weight.  Just be careful mate and once again, welcome to the forum.nondisclosed_email@example.com (BRETT72)Wed, 01 Mar 2006 10:37:17 +0000 newbie trailerhttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p873063,from=rss#post873063https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p873063,from=rss#post873063hey guys, my name is michael, and i live in melbourne I picked up my demo 2005 Ti-L last night (700kms on the clock ) I got it for just under 37000 which included towbar, tinted windows, car mats and rear mats, and $1000 free fuel. so i'm pretty happy with that. i have previously owned a toyota 4 Runner SR5, but found it to drain the fuel. Up in the 18l/100k's for city driving, so i'm looking forward to hopefully cutting that fiqure in half with the x-trail my exy's biggest test will be towing my 4.75 quintrex tinny (about 1200kgs) to and from the ramp and along to the odd camping trip! i'm realy injoying the forum, and finding it really helpful! cheers   nondisclosed_email@example.com (mickj82)Wed, 01 Mar 2006 10:28:00 +0000
