posticon Newbie From Central Coast..

Hi Everyone,

Just popped in to say hello !
Have been a lurker for about 2 weeks now, so thought I would join up ..

I have just Purchased a 2006 Limited Edition ST-S X-Trail Auto.(the 40th Ann Edition)
In Platinum Silver..

Its got the Extra features including the Sunroof, Front Foglights & 16 inch alloys.
A great Deal & trade in from Central Coast Nissan..

Chucked in for free included the Tow-Bar,Carpet mats front & Rear, Cargo Blind, Cargo Carpet, Headlight protectors, Bonnet protector & even the Window Tinting.

I Payed for the Protection pack (Rust-Proofing, Paint & Interior protection) &
Also purchased a front Nudge Bar & Scuff plates.

About the only problem so far, is a Dashboard rattle on the left hand Side. I suspect some Plastic from the Airbag Cover is rubbing against the Left-side of the Dash Pod. Will get it looked at soon.

But other than that A great Car, A nice relaxing drive , nice high position to view the traffic on the F3 when commuting to work at Chatswood ( I live near Gosford)

A totally different Vehicle to the Mazda6 which I traded in after 120,000 klms !

I have also owned a Tribute & Rav4 in the past & the X-Trail is so far proving to be a much better Drive than these & reasonably economical as well..

Cheers
Rodney

Hi Rod and welcome to the forum.

Congrats on your new purchase, which am sure you gonna love.

The additions on the ST-S are great and the price is very good too. The only thing that surprised me was that Nissan decided not to include the roof spoiler as standard for some reason and I'm currently working to solve this shortfall and making the roof spoiler available to all ST and ST-S owners emoticon

I work in Chatswood too, so maybe we'll bump into each other on the road one day (keep any eye on black exy with the forum sticker) emoticon

The dash rattle on the left side could well be cause by a loose A pillar plastic trim, but am sure the dealer would be able to pin-point that during your next service.

You will notice more rattles as time goes by and this is caused by the plastic interior of the exy, so don't get surprised if you do and pump-up the volume of the CD player emoticon

Enjoy your stay on the forum and let us know if you need any help.

As a new member I encourage you to familiarize yourself with the following section of the forum: Newbie Forum Guides

Re: Newbie From Central Coast..

Hi Jalal,

Thanks for the Warm Welcome mate.

Yes I was thinking about getting the rear spoiler,
However I got turned off the idea, after My dealer mentioned that they would have to take the Fuel Filler Cap to do a colour match & that to do the whole process, they would need the Car Possibly for a Few Days....!!
So I May consider A dust deflector instead...

Yes that is the only Problem, with the car regarding the Rattle, It is definitely In the Left hand side of the Dash area, not the A Pillar..

Lets Hope the Next Model X-Trail, which I think is out Sometime next year, will improve the Dashboard Situation somewhat... & if it looks like A Mini Murano, I will be definitely upgrading..!!

Cheers

Well mate I guess you gonna have to turn-on that idea again, as the On Line X-Trail Shop now has access to a roof spoiler which comes colour coded to match your xtrail and fits on top of your exiisting roof rails and we don't need your fuel filler cap or hold your exy for a day to make that happen either! emoticon

The colour code will match your exy exactly and the installation can be done in Sydney within ONE hour.

thanks for that info Jalal.
Will Definitely keep that in mind..

I found some pics here of the Next Gen Xtrail As well..
I noticed they have altered the Dash to be more "Conventional", so looking promising..

Hi Rod,

The photos you have posted had copyright notice on them, so unless you know the person who took these pics personally and obtain his permission, we will be unable to display them here.

In any case, similar photos to what you have posted are included in THIS thread emoticon
