Belated intro...

In the spirit of "better late than never" - g'day from a new X-Trail owner in Wollongong!

About two weeks ago I took ownership of a 2003 ST Series II, auto, white (diamond white?) with ~58,000 km on the clock. I bought it at auction (Pickles in Sydney) for $21,000. I'm pretty pleased with the car and the price - going the auction route means you don't get quite the same peace of mind nor the "like new" detailing, but you can save quite a bit if you're very careful with your inspection and are prepared to try again and again.

One good thing about auctions: no slimey car dealers trying to sucker you (they're just trying to out-bid you!). I was a bit annoyed about a pretty big fib one dealer tried on me: "this X-Trail's from a batch lot from Nissan, probably an executive's company car" only for my boy to find a Hertz rental checklist in one of the compartments in the boot!

Anyhow, thanks to all for the advice so far, and look forward to participating in the forums in the future.

Ben

Thanks for the Intro. Ben

As a newbie, you have already contributed greatly to this forum and the "key-in mod" post is certainly a proof of that.

Keep up the good work and give the admin team a yell if you need any help with the forum.

Enjoy your stay here.
