CapitalX plugging in

Hi,

I'm CapitalX (Richard A) signing up and plugging into this great forum.

I don't own an [sign in to see URL]. I have been researching and looking around for some months and the forum contributions have been excellent. Rich and Clare, thanks for those video clips, I was looking for some x-trail action. Jalal, thanks again for your responses.

Living in Canberra just begs for an xtrail and I am keen to get into some action. Wife is keen too and so is the new little one (he has no choice!). Other car is a V6 camry wagon that I can't get the wife out of, but wait until the day I bring home an exy with a big hole in the roof and [sign in to see URL]

Cheers

Re: CapitalX plugging in

Hi Matt,

I live in Monash. I have been researching x-trails for a while and yet to buy one. It's taking time and the arrival of a new born has stopped the cash flow.

I was reading in the paper the other day that one of the map companies (gregory's or UBD) were soon to publish a guide for SUV's in and around the ACT for the exact purpose you mentioned.

If I find something I'll let you know, as I'm also looking out for mountain bike trails (gentle 4X4 tracks are good for that)...one day I'll take my exy with my mountain bike and get fit whilst having fun!

I suspect mainstream 4X4 clubs etc would know of all tracks etc.

Re: CapitalX plugging in

i also mountain bike! I have a giant. It's good to fold the back seats down and pop it in the boot hey?

There are some good tracks out near gungahlin where i live and also mount majura. But they are fenced off for cars, you can barely squeeze the bike through.

Re: CapitalX plugging in

Matt,

I believe there is a 4WD track from Uriarra village into Namadgi National Park. I took my old Magna up there a couple of years ago. It's easy (bumpy, dusty and gravely) but at some point higher, apparently, it needs a 4WD and then it's rock hopping on a steep ascent. The National Parks behind Batemans Bay have tracks my cousin told me (Triton).
If you want to catch up one day, send me a PM and we'll meet up. I am a heavy frame and new to mountain bikes (Learsport with Deore group set), but cope well, slow but well.
Have you done anything to your exy?
I'm away from tomorrow until next Tues, so speak later.
