Another Brisvegas X-Trail

Hi all,
Signed on the dotted line for a new X-Trail on Monday and now have a three week wait for it to come in. Can't wait.

Looking forward to chatting with you all and hopefully meeting up with a few of you.

Do the Brisbane/SE Queensland owners meet up very often?

Danny

Hi Danny,

Glad you could make it to the forum.

Welcome a board mate and enjoy your stay here.

You can visit the EVENTS section of the forum to find details about Brisbane meet-up/s and hook-up with the guys there.

Make sure you post some pics when you get your new exy emoticon

G'day Danny,

The next 3 weeks will be very long, just don't countdown the days to go, it will be worse for you.

Welcome to the forums

Cheers

Thanks mate,

Three weeks isn't that bad considering I waited six months for my last Mini.

I will count the days though. emoticon

Can't help it.

Hi TJA,

Yep I actually had a 2002 Cooper, 2003 Cooper S, then a 2005 Cooper S (not all at once). However, as with you the space issue became a problem with the expected arrival of our second child. Not a bad thing, just a shame I can't go running around Mt Glorious at a great rate of knots for a while. I'll buy another once the kids are both old enough to climb into the back themselves and we don't need nappy bags, prams and the like. emoticon

However, now I have to be a grownup therefore I'll always need a practical vehicle now.

All the same looking forward to hitting the beach in my X-Trail and not breaking my back trying to put babies in the back seat. emoticon

Speaking of MINIs, I read some rumblings of maybe forming an X-Trail Club. Three of us Brissie MINI nuts formed clubMINI with is now the national new MINI club model with over 300 members. BMW even give heaps of financial support and donations of goods and services support too.

I am happy to assist in forming a club if you guys ever want to. I still have the paperwork from forming clubMINI (www.clubmini.com.au) and it's not too hard to alter it for another vehicle club.

Just a thought.

In the meantime, can't wait for the X-Trail to come.

Hi Danny,

An xtrail club sounds like a good idea (I think there is one in Melbourne already, though not dedicated to the xtrail only), but we're not yet in a position to be seriously considered by Nissan for full financial support and sponsorship, so am a bit hesitant to initiate that now, not until we have a large number of members at the very least.

But I like the design of the mini club and we could certainly find some use of the info and experience you have in setting a club down the track.

Thanks for the offer (let us think it over for the time being)

Yeh I agree,

I do know the president of the "Z" club (a club for Nissan Z cars)in Queensland who have been around for 20-odd years and have, in the past, recieved threatening legal letters from Nissan telling them to remove any reference to "Nissan" from their club material.

From that I would assume you'd never get Nissan on board.

I am certainly in no hurry to be a member of another car club. But tis alway fun to meet up with like-minded people. emoticon

Re: Another Brisvegas X-Trail

Yep Danny, I know that it could be very challenging, but at the moment and with our type of free forums we can enjoy the freedom we have without being pressured and/or restricted by anybody.

The restriction usually comes with sponsorships and the like.

It is very unusual for nissan to be requesting for their reference to be removed from the "Z" club when in fact the club is promoting their product.
