Re: Compatible Alloys for X-Trail

Yeh R33s weigh only 180kgs less than out exys so I doubt it'd be much of a problem.
That said, your right, their load rating would passn't legally I dot think. That's half the reason why I kept the stickies!

I just can't get believe the difference that 20mm of rubber all round has done!

How wide are the tryes you drive on the street Jalal?

Yep, I've been running with the 18" Murano's for quite a while now. using 245/45/18 tyres. Not sure about the lift.

Re: Compatible Alloys for X-Trail

Hi Ray,

If you choose the correct profile as Jalal has done to match the tire width then your overall diameter will be the same as the 16 or 15 rims and your speedo will stay correct.
If you keep the standard 65 or 70 profile with the 18 rims then your ride height will increase by the different tire diamater BUT your speedo will also be incorrect by reading slower than your actual road speed (possible speeding fines).
You will need to clarify which tire size you intend putting on the 18 rims for us to check any lift and speedo changes.

Re: Compatible Alloys for X-Trail

Hi Kev, if i keep the standard 65 or 70 will that give me a 2" lift. Also is it possible for
nissan to recalibrate the speedo, and thank you for your input on this
           subject.

If you put 65 or 70 series tyres on 18's, they will rub on the guards for sure.

Re: Compatible Alloys for X-Trail

Hi Ray,

I went from the standard 215/65/16 to a 225/70/16 and by the tyre calculator this gives me an extra 0.7" radius increase (extra lift).
This size tyre is about the maximum you could fit without rubbing and as it was I had to adjust the passenger's plastic splashguard a little.

Sorry, I don't think changing rim/tyre combinations will give you anything close to a 2" lift without problems.

Re: Compatible Alloys for X-Trail

Wont get any decent AT rubber on 18 inch rims without doing some serious grinding of the inner fender first, front and rear, as Kev said. Spacers or springs would be a cheaper and more efficient means of a lift. 400 bucks isnt that much for a guaranteed lift and result.
