Help on removing panel on the bottom inside of tailgate

Hi,
Hope somebody can help, I had my X-Trail broken into via the tailgate
window. The tailgate window was smashed, so took it to autoglass to get
fixed. They fixed it but now there is lots of glass rattling about
inside the tailgate.
Does anyone know what the best way is to remove the panel on the inside
of the tailgate, so that I can get in to remove glass pieces.
Thanks

Craig

Hi Craig and welcome to the forum.

The tailgate trim is a bit tricky to remove but it is not hard once you know the location of the tree clips and you pop the first one out with a screw-driver.

Have a look at the pics below to know the location of those clips and then give it a go.

Hi Craig,

And Welcome to the Forums.

Bad luck having your exy smashed into. You must have had something in the back that looked fairly valuable.

Makes me think even more now about investing into a cargo blind. I use the philosophy "Out of Sight, Out of Mind", and touch wood I haven't been broken into yet.

The worst I've had is my "Nissan Logo" tyre valve caps stolen.

Cheers

Re: Help on removing panel on the bottom inside of tailgate

Big thanks Jalal and NPC73.
This will be a great help, I had left the pull out boot cover open for two days (first time I had ever done this), thinking that there was nothing worth in there. But there was a work bag with a tape measure in it. So they got that.
Learn't my lesson: cover the boot.
Cheers

You're welcome Craig.

This is another good reason why I decided to go with the 20% black window tint emoticon

Once I put the sun-shade on the windscreen, no one can see what is inside and this is in daylight emoticon

Re: Help on removing panel on the bottom inside of tailgate

Hi
jalalski

Just attempting to view the remote lock for the tailgate of my trail 2002 as it has decided not to remote lock anymore (rear doors still lock) but wondering how to remove the inside tailgate panel without destroying it. Noticed your photos on this thread but they are not available anymore. If you can post again I would appreciate that.

Cheers

Re:

Sorry mate, don't have those pics handy anymore but you can download the ESM for the T30 exy and it will show you how to remove it.

Hello, I am also looking for a way in which to remove the tailgate trim as I am in the process of installing a reverse camera. I am unable to view your pics unfortunately. Your assistance would be very much appreciated. ColourOz

Re: Help on removing panel on the bottom inside of tailgate

On the T31 you need to remove 2 clips and the pull cup on the bottom surface, then just pull on the trim away from the door. I had to replace 2 or 3 clips when reinstalling.

For routing your camera you can run your wire under the upper portion of the trim instead of inside the door assembly, it’s easier that way.
