Raising The Ground Clearance

Hi All,

I hope I am not rehashing a subject. But I can't seem to find the answers I am looking for in the search.

I am wondering can I raise the ground clearance. This is the only thing so far that has given me trouble. If so what are the options and does it put me into a life time of debt, void the warrenty and insurance? Also is there then problems 'cause the centre of gravity has changed.

I have read about spacers and springs in the forum but I need some more explination.

Thanks,

JenniFlower

Re: Raising The Ground Clearance

JF,
I have been toying with the idea of doing the 2" strut lift for a while now, with finances being the only thing holding me back.

Check out this LINK for information on the Superior Engineering 2" strut lift. Basically, the device is fitted between the top of the strut tower and the strut mount, resulting in a 2" lift. This method gives the desired lift, without the harshness that a spring lift can give due to a larger/heavy duty spring being used. SE are also building in a camber offset into the strut spacer to rectify this problem also.

Prices at the moment are $400 for the 4 spacers, and delivery being about $40 from Queensland. Installation is being charged at between $100 and $250, but you can DIY if you have the tools.

KYP168, DoomyXTrail, siukalo and xtrailing have already gone this mod. I am sure they wouldn't mind a pm if you have any further questions (sorry guys)

Re: Raising The Ground Clearance

Hi Jenni,

All the answers are in the "Suspension Lift" thread in the Main Chat area of the forum.

Basically we have covered all of the available options about raising the exy in that thread and the available sources.

If you have any specific concerns/questions that have not been covered-off, please ask them in the above thread.

That's all part of the fun and the right track to complete the X-Trail Forum Graduation Course LOL emoticon

As a new member you will spend a lot of time reading stuff that has been posted here and we will of course be more than happy to point you in the right direction, just like the guys above have done.
