Re: Interior & Key Ignition Light

The rear luggage lamp is not controlled by the Timer Module, only the front cabin and map lamps.

Does the rear luggage lamp work in the door position when either of the rear doors are opened and closed ?

Re: Interior & Key Ignition Light

I bought a couple of LED lamps to replace the front map light globes(BA9S) but found that the positive is connected to the lamp body instead of the bottom pin, so the LEDs won't light.
I pulled the lamp assembly out & swapped over the red & black wires so the positive is now to the bottom pin & the LEDs now work. I just have to see how it looks at night.
It would also be possible to add one of the 6 or 9 or 12 LED light blocks as they come with various adaptors to suit several type of globe, eg BA9S, Festoon etc
I have fitted a 6 LED block to the passenger compartment top light.

Yes dave, I also had to swap the polarity on the LED blocks when I fitted them into the map lights in my T30 when I had it. They worked perfectly well.

I also noticed last night that the new interior LED light block still glows after the doors are closed.

Re: Interior & Key Ignition Light

That is caused by the leakage current of the electronic module which controls the light.
I just soldered a high value resistor across the globe to shunt the current and help the module turn off the output properly.

Re: Interior & Key Ignition Light

Hi guys, one of the interior lights in my T30 has gone and I see this as a good opportunity to upgrade to LED's.

Can anyone provide some guidance as to which model/type of LED lights I should get to simply replace the old globes?

I've had a search online but haven't been able to find anything specific.

Thanks in advance!

The ebay search which will find thousands of what you are after is "led festoon lamp"
There are direct replacements which you will need to know the original globe length and universal replacements which have an led panel connected to s spring-type gloobe adapter.

Another way-to-go is to take the old globe and go to a Jaycar Electronics shop. They're all over Melb and the staff can assist with the correct [sign in to see URL] 'hit-n-miss' online problems.
I replaced all of my internal, and front park globes, at Jaycar.
