Re: Nudge Bar Fittment

There are two tempaltes which come with the fitting instructions, one is a paper cut out which you place on the bumper to get your two upper mounting bolts in the right place. The other template is a sheet metal template which you fit against the radiator housing and drill two bolt holes on each side, the top mounting brackets have two bolts holes , this gets tricky as on one side you use the outter hole and on the otherside you use the inner hole. I think it would also be hard to get the top mounting bracket holes on the radiator housing in the right place with out the proper template.

Re: Nudge Bar Fittment

Following this write up really helped today. Fitted my nudge bar today in about 4 hrs, with no templates.. Here's a couple of things that might help the next person:

1. The plastic screws that hold the grill/bumper in place suck really bad. I ended up prying them off with a flat tip screw driver then pulling them out with the pair of pliers. How ever at the end I only had one that didn't go back properly. Broken or not they still work.

2. When removing grill actually get under car and look up with a torch, the grill comes of really easy once you see the clips and how they work.

3. I had no templates. I removed the bumper then fitted lower brackets to bar and lifted against car and found where they bolted too. Then once they were bolted in, I placed my top bracket on and found where to drill the holes. Then removed bar, fitted all brackets to car, bumper on, bar onto lower brackets and noted where I needed to drill holes for top bracket. Easy emoticon should also add to remove spot lights, makes easier when there not on there lol

And lastly, clean grey part of nudge bar with wd40, came up like new.. Not bad for a nudge bar from a wreckers..

Fitted with no bumper, making sure all bolts up..

Finished product. Now to wait for darkness and re-align roo lights..

Re: T30 X-Trail Nudge Bar Fittment

Hi I purchased a genuine xtrail t30 series 2 nudge bar but my problem is no brackets!! I called the wreckers and they would sell me some but for more then what the nudge bar cost me! Just wondering if anyone knows where I can purchase some at a reasonable price or if someone has drawings/dimensions of these so I can get some professionally fabricated(I work with some qualified fitters/welders that can make them, they would prob be stonger then the originals if anything, no cutting corners for safety!) anyone could help that'd be great. Cheers Brad

Re:

Brad,
I had the same problem, I brought a bar off eBay with no brackets and tried to make my own and failed lol
I ended up buying a complete kit, with another nudge bar from a Nissan wreckers for a lot cheap then what Nissan wanted for 1 bracket.

Re: T30 X-Trail Nudge Bar Fittment

Greetings folks,
I've just bought an 02 TI and am looking for a nudge bar, but note that most of the used ones for sale say they're compatible with 09/03-10/07 models. Are there differences with the earlier T30's?
ARB will sell me a new steel nudge bar for $403. Does this seem a good deal to you?
Thanks.

Re:

Hi Jim,

There are differences in the shape of the front bumper between the Series 1 and Series 2 T30 models. Yours is a Series 1, so the nudge bar shape and brackets would also be different.

ARB's price is a good one but you should also have a look at the ECB Nudge Bars.

Re: T30 X-Trail Nudge Bar Fittment

Thanks for the advice, Jalal. I looked at the ECB website, but it only lists a full bull bar for the T30. Looking more and more like I'll go for the ARB. Does anyone have experience with or good photos of one of these bars?

Re: Nudge Bar Fittment

Hi saw this post I have a t30 2002 were there any problems getting the bar in the right position.
I have no templates as well,My problem is getting the top mounts in the right position so there is minimal gap between the bar and the bumper.

also after you fit the nudge bar and brackets do you have to remove the nudge bar from the brackets to get the bumper back on?
