Re: Light Turbo Charging of X-Trail.....How???
Here we go again, the phantom black GT resurrected I wonder if anyone in Australia has actually seen it in person apart from the member in question......and his uncle
Cam, you will indeed have the fastest exy in Australia that is not a GT, but you gonna have to line it up against the turbo charged one I raced here in Sydney and blow them away for me (mine is just too heavy to race)

Re: Light Turbo Charging of X-Trail.....How???
Kev, i said were not counting the GT variants dammit! lol jks
haha the GT x-trails have to be the most phantom car ever!
i cant find any pics of them, very little specs, almost no discussion apart from whats on here...
google "X-trail GT" and see what i mean, it comes up with next to nothing!
as much as i would love to jal, i dont think a drag race is justification for driving/training my car all the way to sydney haha
if i recall correctly, i think my car is already faster/as fast as the turbo exy...
ive run an (albeit unofficial) mid 15 sec quarter mile.
i cant remember what the turbo exy did, but i cant remember it being under 15...
i cant wait just to be able to blow off and flutter at people when i drive past haha

Re: Light Turbo Charging of X-Trail.....How???
yeh yeh, sure specs like that are available,
but anything else, like talks of modifications, quarter mile times, dyno runs, reviews or anything like that, just arent there!
even simple pictures of the car, theres only a handful...
gotta keep in mind that there were only 500 of these made in the world...
just seems like such a mysterious car thats all!

Re: Light Turbo Charging of X-Trail.....How???
You would be actually surprised to find-out that the GT is not that popular in Japan at all, in fact it was purely made for the export market on demand and most of these GTs are in New Zealand out of all places in the world.

Re: Light Turbo Charging of X-Trail.....How???
haha, i rest my case!
quite suprisingly, ive found that theres quite a bit of talk about the engine though...
the VET version of the SR motor has attracted quite alot of attention around motoring enthusiasts.
imagine: NEO VVT turbo 2L, with the quad throttle bodies of a GTiR, full 3'' exhaust, running >10 pound of boost...
what an engine!

Re: Light Turbo Charging of X-Trail.....How???
the specs posted above mention that the xtrail gt has a sr20det neo vvt, when the neo variant of the sr20 platform in the xtrail gt is a SR20VET. its been quoted as being like an sr20det with v-tec (honda valve timing tricks). all the SR20 tuners are going crazy about these different heads etc and buy them to fit to their 180-200 sx's.
ive seen a few vids on the TUBE of YOU of in-car acceleration and stuff like that on the GTs also.
all im hearing is T30 turbo vs. T30 turbo race :P

Re: Light Turbo Charging of X-Trail.....How???
id love to race him, but i dont think its gonna happen...
distance is a problem.
best i can think of is when its finished, i just compare my track time to his...
im hoping for 14s...
but im still not convinced that its a fair comparison (my turbo xy to Hi Octane's), their exy was designed to be the bare minimum, the kit runs the essentials for the turbo and nothing else.
no intercooler, fuel pump upgrade, and NO EXHAUST up grade...
but itll still be interesting...
change of plans with the engine management too...
im using an EMS stinger 4424 instead of the GReddy piggyback
should be able to hold a MUCH better tune cos its a full standalone computer.
plus its not that much more expensive and the features are unbelievable...
check it out here: http://www.enginemanagementsystem.com
dump pipe's bin made
waiting for the manifold gasket to come from over east, so the flange can be traced and made...
then i can start installing parts
