Re: rear fog light installed

Good stuff Ceasar.

Am glad it worked-out well for you.

Your wait might be over, but there are 6 other guys who have pre-ordered this through the On Line Shop and still waiting for it as detailed HERE Their wait will be over soon I hope too when I get them. emoticon

I think you have done it the same way Noel had done his when he wired a stand-alone switch for it without the need to turn it on with front fog lights.

Re: rear fog light installed

Ceasar,

This is where you gonna struck a slight problem.

I know that the LED is 1.4W push-in type, however when I previously looked for the exact size to match, as I was trying to change the colour of my dash dials, I could not find it anywhere, I tried everywhere and the closes one I think was from Repco when we browsed through the Hella catalogue.

This is not the problem though, the problem is that you won’t fin the base for that LED to fit the back board of the cluster box in the market at all. It is Nissan specific and it is of a twist and turn type so it can make a contact with the board. This can only be ordered through Nissan (or found at the wreckers)

Re: rear fog light installed

Sorry Ceasar. I didn't know what it's called and I referred to it as the "base" of the LED, it is the bessel I was talking about, which is impossible to match aftermarket. You need to order it from Nissan, but before you do that, you may want to test connectivity to that point by relocating another LED from another point to the RFL indicator and see if it lights-up. When and if it does, you can order it then or I can help you get one.

Cool Cesar.

Care to share how you got the RFL indicator/LED wired-up to light-up in the dash and what colour wires you had to splice?

Re: rear fog light installed

what i did exactly the same as one of our member only i did it thru steering wheel.then i drill 2 little holes just to fit legs of LED on third hole of dash instrument where indicator is. soldered two wires one had a resistor connected to negative of new switch and the other is connected to load side.now every time i switch on light in dash on as well.
resistor- RR0564 0.5WATT MTL470R 1% MINI
LED normal 1.4 watt
the reason for resistor is LED runs on 2 volt as far as know .
drill bit 1mm. enough to fit LED legs in it.
hope this help. wish i can post pictures try my best.have photos in my computer but blurry.do i have to use imageshack?
cheers
