Re: Revs drop when starting up
Does this occur when the engine is both warm and cold?

Re: Revs drop when starting up
Vik,
When I first start my exy in the morning (cold start) the RPM shoots-up to around 2000rpm and drops straight away to around 1200, as soon as the engine warms-up it goes down to around 800-900rpm.
What you're experiencing could well be a dirty throttle body and if you notice that the rpm needle fluctuates (i.e. not steady) then I suggest you mention this to your dealer, as they may need to clean the throttle body.
I had a clogged throttle body at around 20,000kms when I took it off-road and driven through very heavy dust sections.
Also check the air-filter box as there maybe something trapped in there.

Jalal - It will be interesting if it is the dirty throttle body becauee my Exy has never been on grass let alone offroad in dusty conditions and with only 7000ks on the clock.
Will double check the Air Filter unit.
Thanks guys.
It is early for it to happen at 7000kms indeed. Maybe it is giving you a signal that it wants more adventure and is a bit tired of the city traffic? LOL just kidding.
If it is doing that ongoing, take it to the dealer for a check-up. It could be something else more serious.

Re: Revs drop when starting up
Yes sounds like something is wrong. You may also wish to check the hose entering the Throttle Body for detoriation and that it is connected properly. Refer to this pic:
