hehehe, check the videos section and the answer to your prayers might already be there LOL emoticon

One small remote control is all you gonna ever need in the future. hahaha

I was planning to go to the wreckers today to get the auto switch for the passenger window, but got held-up doing an un-successful mod, what a waste of time it was emoticon

P.S. The video called "perfect 4WD parking"

It wont be fun in the future with all the new technology, pretty soon they will want the 4bie to go out and do everything its self, "hill decent control, snow mode, mud mode, grass mode" what gonna happen to good old fashioned 4wheel drivin, thats where the real fun is!

Re: Auto window for passenger side

Hi Guys,

I grabbed myself a spare set of the window winding buttons which included the AUTO and today I started experimenting about having another AUTO switch on the driver's door for the passenger window.

Am afraid I have to report that this mod is impossible to do emoticon

After I took apart the window controls and managed to take off the passenger window control, I found out that there is an in-built relay in the electronic board that is needed to have the AUTO switch operate for the passenger window.

This relay and the whole board is impossible to remove, as everything is soldered on and factory pressed, meaning that they only way to remove the relay is to break the board, but even then the solder map/lines would have to be modified for this function to operate.

Am sorry to say, that I have given-up emoticon

Here are some pics of the internals

Re: Auto window for passenger side

I wonder if it would be possible to put an entire switch panel from the driver's door into the passenger's door...

Then you'd also probably need to run a heap of wires into the passenger's door as well, and connect them up (in parallel?) to the switch panel wiring in the driver's door.

Sounds like it would be quite a headache, not to mention an absolute pain in the bum (if not impossible)!

Re: Auto window for passenger side

That might be possible Rich (I think), but what is the point? The reason I tried this mod was so that I can control the passenger window from my side, most of the time am driving by myself and use the passenger window control on my door and it takes ages to go up compared to the driver's side. When my wife is in the car she doesn't use her window at all (she prefers air-con) emoticon

The other difficulty with what you suggested would be the need to change the insert of the passenger side door to be able to slot the switch panel in.

Nah, too hard I reckon and doesn't worth the effort.

Sorry, I forgot the original intention was to be able to be able to automatically open & close other windows than the driver's window. What I suggested wouldn't achieve that anyway emoticon

As for cutting the hole to fit a bigger switch plate, it is relatively easy. The material the door armrests are made out of (if it's the same as the '99 Pulsar) is like a compressed cardboard/plastic mold, and is quite easy to cut with a stanley knife. I had to modify my Pulsar door trims to allow 8inch speakers to fit in the doors (spaced out about 15mm) without fouling the back of the door trim.

Rich, am sure you would have realised by now that our door trims are Plastic emoticon

In any case I wont be doing the cutting for this mod, I prefer to drill things LOL

Re: Auto window for passenger side

Jalal, noticed you mentioned the passenger window slow to come up. Spray some silicon spray on the guide channels, while you're at it do the door rubbers as well(used to stop GQ patrol rear doors squeaking) & you'll notice a big difference in the speed.

Cheers Phil

Forgot to mention I have "voice activated" passenger windows!! WIND THE B---DY WINDOW UP!!!!!

Hey Jalal,

Just wondering what you are going to do with the dismantled window controller you have there... I wouldn't mind looking at the electronics on it to see if I can find a way to do this mod - would do it on mine but if that one was a "spare" I owuld rather that as my wife wouldn't appreciate the car being in bits for a few days or however long it takes to figure out the circuit.
