Re:

Thanks Jalal and Dave, and thanks for the offer Scott, wish I could face driving the Brisbane traffic again, and I'd almost be tempted to except for the pesky little noise I noticed after the work I had done on the exy on Friday which I need to get checked before I drive anywhere.
Looks like a quiet trip home, and a visit to autobarn as soon as I get to Cairns, or if I get really desperate somewhere along the way.

 Thanks everyone.
emoticon emoticon emoticon I was keying the numbers in too slowly.....!
The very tolerant workshop foreman at Garry Crick's in Nambour fixed it for me, after he checked out the noise I was concerned about and advised it was normal.
So, I'm on my way home again now.

I don't think anyone here would have guessed that, especially when you said that you have used this exact PIN before without any problems LOL emoticon

posticon Re: radio codes

To CHRISMUR

The owners manual does not mention the radio codes. It is in a separate booklet called Audio Systems Owners Manual Supplement.
Nissan give the radio code away for free. Just ring on their service number 1800 035 035 in Australia. They only ask for the VIN/chassis number.
After having the battery replaced and losing the code in the process I emailed Nissan. No answer!! Finally rang after 2 days and got the code.
By then the radio only gave a continuous Err message. So had to disconnect the battery. Reconnect the battery and wait one hour before putting in the code. The code comes up on the screen as you put it in so you can check it. You can only use the buttons 1 2 3 and 4 so if the number is 7951 press no. 1 for 7 times then press no. 2 for 9 times, then 3 for 5 times then 4 for 1 time. You also lose any preset stations so you have to do it again.

Not any more they don't.
I went to get a code from my favorite dealer NMG (not) and they insisted that I take the car to them for verification.
Apparently anybody can get a cars VIN and use it to get radio codes, especially when buying a radio second hand.

Re:

They do Tony, but only Nissan Australia head office is authorised to verify your ID and ownership of the car before giving you the PIN code. The dealers won't do it over the phone and they never have.

I got the PIN code form my T30 and the Tiida by calling that number.
