x-trail petrol pump

Hi guys,
Has anybody had any probs with their fuel pump?? My Exy would not start on Sat arvo, called the 24 h road service (NRMA ) He told me he thought the petrol pump may be the problem. Organized a tow up to Nissan service center and left it there and waited for Monday. After they finaly got around to looking at it Wed arvo they told me that it was infact the pump and that they had just ordered one from....wait for it.....JAPAN ! Normally a one week turnaround! BUT the service guy said that he had 4 tow ins this past couple of days ALL with fuel pump probs. He asked me where i got my fuel from and will ask the other 3 unlucky souls the same Q. He suggested that maybe we bought a "contaminated" batch of fuel. I have my suspicions but wont say anything just yet.
Still waiting for Nissan to get back to me with an update re. hire car ect. Or yeh, he said its all under warrantee ! STILL NOT HAPPY. 50KM+ ound trip bike ride to and from work in 35 deg heat.

Re: x-trail petrol pump

Hi Mick,

Nice to hear from you again emoticon

I'm also betting that the fuel is the cause of this particular problem.

I had my share of a shocking batch of fuel one day and my exy has completely lost power and was stuck on low revs even on the highway. No matter how hard I pressed the accelerator it was just not responding.

I guess I was lucky that my fuel pump didn't give in.

I took it to the dealers and it stayed with them overnight and they found nothing wrong.

Since then I changed the "brand" of petrol and it has been sweet ever since. "touch wood" emoticon
